Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

No way I get a 305/30/20 in the trunk of my Camaro. Probably not a 285/30/20 either.

My primary focus was performance, but comfort mattered as well. I'm 6' 165 lbs, and the Recaro's fit me like a glove.

I can fit three rifles, three shotguns, six pistols, shooting rigs for three people, a gun cart, 1,000 plus rounds of ammo, and assorted accoutrements for shooting into the trunk. Range bag, two suitcases and the wife go in the back seat. Son #2 6'1" goes in the passenger seat.

With that little opening, I'd be amazed if you could get a Hotwheels Camaro in there

Camaro's are very impractical if you want to use your trunk for a bicycle or golf clubs.

Some of us want to drive something fun and stylin' no matter what the occasion. Though, I suppose this isn't a concern for a Camaro owner

yeah first time I took the 'maro to Aldi and tried to put a tray of yogurts in the trunk, I realized I had never even opened the trunk. "Well, damn!" but then I realized how often do I buy a tray of yogurts that couldn't just as easily been dumped into a plastic bag? And then I drove home like a nut, enjoying that sweet, sweet V8 sound emanating from my GT350-equivalent car that was 20 grand cheaper to buy.

Can't speak for your 'maro or much about a GT350 as I've only seen/sat in one on the showroom floor. I can't believe anything is GT350 -equivalent except a GT350. Sure times and paper blah blah blah but no way is another car going to sound the same or feel the same. Also, does your 'maro need to have it's oil filter tightened every so often? I hear that's a thing for GT350's. Something about the awesomeness being too much for the filter to stay on... While subjective, the GT350 looks better than any Cam err oh I ever seen...by a lot...like a lot a lot.

Also haul my bicycle in the back when I travel for a specific ride. I actually can't remember the last time my back seats were in the upright position. I love hearing more of the exhaust note.

Can't speak for your 'maro or much about a GT350 as I've only seen/sat in one on the showroom floor. I can't believe anything is GT350 -equivalent except a GT350. My car is stock. My experience has been that I've never encountered a Mustang GT that could stay with me whether in a straight line, or even more pronounced, if there are curves. I'm sure there are modified Mustang GTs out there that would leave me in the dust, but I don't think there has ever been a stock Mustang GT that could do that.

Having said that, the position on the Camaro 6th gen forum is that a GT350 and an SS 1LE are about on par performance wise. That seems to be the consensus of the car writers too.

Styling and sound preferences are subjective. I like the styling of my SS, I think a GT350/500 looks better. I like the sound of my SS, particularly since I keep the exhaust locked in track mode. I happen to think the Mustang sounds really good to. In terms of sound, I would be happy with either one.

With respect to dependability I can only state what I've experienced. I'm almost at 50,000 miles and all I've ever had to do was put gas in it, change the oil and change the tires., oh and a couple of air filters.

For me it came down to a choice between a slightly better performer and a slightly better looking car. I chose performance. I haven't regretted it.

LOL, no offense. That's a nice looking GT you have, and I like Chargers too, but do your research, neither can hang with an SS 1LE.

It wasn't that long ago I watched a Charger SRT fade back from a dig, lose his rear end through the first turn in an S curve, overcorrect and almost roll going into the second turn. I didn't see him after that because none of those things happened to me.

BTW, did I mention, I got mine new, out the door, for just over $40K. Try to buy a GT350 (if they were still making them) for that.

Nope, but as I've said, that Ecoboost is a sweet little car. My research is basically Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and what I've experienced myself.
