A slightly related question: Why does the audio system turn on when you LOCK the doors? What purpose does that serve?
I noticed it does this because I'm using the 6V from the head unit to turn on my Hertz DSP and I noticed it powering up if I re-lock the doors after the system is off. I would like a better trigger to initiate the audio system turn on/off instead of the 6V signal from the head unit because it's just wonky how it works.
Anyone using the power port to trigger your after-market audio system?

Your amp turn-off issue is not an issue. Your amp turns off in the same interval that the factory amp would have.
Yes it does. The whole car wakes up when you open any door including the trunk.
I tested this out with a camera in the car so I could monitor whether or not it shut off via the LED on the amp. You were both right. It did shut off. Now I need to figure out why my battery was weak. Thanks for your input guys.

I just recently installed a DSR-1 along with 2 amps and playing with the tune with the car off has been drawing power for me, too. I’ve been keeping it on my trickle charger that I normally use for winter storage.

I’ve had a strange anomaly happen twice since installing the stereo system about a month ago- on two separate occasions I’ve run out to the store and when I came back I hit the button to start the car. It starts to turn over and then abruptly stops, almost like the battery is completely dead. Once I’m done with my 3-second cycle of freaking out thinking I’m stuck and I regain my composure, I hit the start button again and it starts like normal. Very unnerving!

With the DSR1 and IdataLink harness, I must have an aftermarket amp, correct?
How does the factory speaker wiring connect to the amp?

Yes, the iDatalink AR and DSR1 units are meant to replace the factory amps.
The following schematic should answer your wiring question:

I've spent some time looking at that but it doesn't tell me if there's a plug and play harness that allows the factory wiring to plug into the factory connector. I understand one end will be bare wires, but I'm interested in the car end.

In the schematic, “Step 2” shows the provided harnesses to mate up with the factory wiring for the headunit signals and the speakers. The black harness contains the outputs from the head unit. The grey and brown harnesses are the speaker leads. You provide the speaker wires from your amp or passive crossovers for the brown and grey harnesses. It’s drawn this way because you have the option of setting up a fully active system [no external passive crossovers, direct from the amplifier(s)] or using passive crossovers after the amplifier(s).

Ahh that makes sense!

Thank you, appreciate the info.

New dsr1 install in B&O car, my volume control and amp gains just seem wrong, I dont get good sound till I'm up in 15 - 18 volume range . I'm running audiocontrol lc6 and lc4 , other wierd thing was the audiocontrol auto on function didnt work had to run a amp on line. My gains are in the mid to 3/4 range something doesn't seem right. Anyone else have anything similar... note I haven't contacted support yet. Also when you adjust thing thru the eq, I get a quick bounce to the right side speakers while I make each adjustment..

Did you perform the three firmware updates prior to installation?

AFO3 harness? What output voltage range did you use? Is the DSR1 input voltage switch set to low?

I had a similar issue almost like 2 years ago. I reached out to customer service multiple times. Rockford customer service was useless and Maestro support was helpful but the issue was more on RF side however they refused to acknowledge it. Maestro provided a bandaid solution by increasing the gain in a custom firmware but sounded like crap with lot of background hiss at idle due to high gains. I ditched the DSR1 and went with Helix DSP.3. I'm not surprised they still haven't fixed the issue

I'm on an android, here are the screen i have... Also AF02 harness, because it's a B&O system, also confirm the AF02 version i have is .9 so no modification to the harness was nessary per the instructions... I went thru and reflashed everything tonight, and still the same i have to put the volume to 20 just to hear anything solid and my gains are sky high

According to iDatalink’s Maestro website, 2018-2020 Mustangs with amplifiers (9 or 12 speakers) use the aFO3 harness:

DE24BCC2-F8BD-4A64-9175-9615DF1E84C5.webp

It is also known that programming the DSR1 is a bear with Android devices. If you have access to an iPhone or iPad, try that in conjunction with the proper harness. During the initial PC setup, you should have seen the aFO3 harness as a necessary item for the integration.
