Na vs NA there are plenty of 600hp builds for camaro, i think steeda had 570.
30 horse difference with a much smaller engine. Coyote = #winning

I agree on that. Well..smaller in displacement, not size. Quarter mile times still speak for themselves though. As do track times.

I think the coyote engine is fantastic, but the lt1 makes more power.

Im torn between the 2020 Mustang GT and the 2020 Camaro SS both in A10 variants. And both seem to be very close in many aspects. I plan on asking this question on a camaro forum, but the other way around. But Im curious about those that shopped both seriously and chose the Mustang in the end. Lets not use the "visibility" argument though. I've driven both extensively and that isnt a problem in the camaro, at least not for me. What else prevented you from getting the camaro? Was it price, availability or was it options?? Lets have a real conversation without a flame war starting. Thanks.
The interior is quite cavy inside the Camaro. The gun slit windows which look cool from the outside and black on black on black interiors just make it very dark especially with no sunroof. It wasn't a deal breaker, I was just still looking for a used one that was the right price/value/mileage/color/pkg. For me I was on the hunt for awhile. Problem is, I let myself see the Gray interior. Which then became a must have option because it lightened up the interior a ton. I finally gave up after a couple months and at last look there were 4 in the nation at any price/mileage combo, and I had fully given up on quad exhausts, but still wanted them. All 4 were former rental cars. Wasn't going to do it.

So I started looking back at the Mustang and reading into some of the "issues" people were talking about at first blush that turned me away in the first place. My fears eased, I started looking at Stangs and as soon as I did, the clouds parted, and I found the Roush RS2 I'm now driving. 2 hours away from me, fit my budget if I got what I needed on my trade, which I did. So. Don't regret it one bit. I still think the Camaro is a great car, but just couldn't find the right one.

If a Roush wasn't starting me in the face and a Gray on Gray 2SS A10 non-rental popped up I probably would have jumped on that and be in the Camaro forum right now. RS2vs2SS for similar money? Roush no question. 6G forum is pretty good too!

Last time I went new car shopping, I really wanted to love the Mustang. Big fan of the looks and engine note, nice interior layout, decent trunk space. However, I ended up buying a very gently used ‘18 ZL1 for just a little more than a GT PP2. The Camaro is just more solid feeling and capable and complete right out of the box. My son has a ‘19 GT Premium, and although I still prefer my Z, his car has been a lot fun for us. The Mustang aftermarket is huge and easy to make relatively inexpensive mods and see big improvements. There’s not much I can do with my car to improve it that’s not going to cost me 10k. So from a car hobby standpoint (the tinkering side of it), the Mustang may have an edge.

True. Still the coyote is lighter that the LS. But it's still smaller than the 4.6 modular Ford haha. Merry Christmas buddy :)

The 1le package on the ss makes it even better and more of a difference against the mustang vs the regular ss. The seats..shifter..steering wheel..HUD..and appearance of the 1le are great. Just have to decide on personal prefefence and what is worth it.

42k for a 1ss 1le is pretty hard to beat though tbh.

I'd say on the street the PP1 will be quite a bit friendlier than the 1LE.
The SS/1LE suspension is WAY, WAY better (bump absorption, and control) than the PP1 be it standard or Mag ride. Ford's MR tuning is embarrassing frankly.

Yeah..the differences are smaller with the 1le package though. As you still get the 1le recaro seats, alcantara steering wheel, and shift knob, as well as the HUD. Those are the primary things i cared about. The 2ss doesnt exactly come with the 2ss seats included outside of the car. So the 4-5k difference is harder to swallow when you dont get as many upgrades if its a 1le.

The main option ill miss out on the 1ss vs 2ss i care about at all, is the heated/cooled seats, but even thats not a deal breaker.

Other things i dont care so much about are the basically unusable wireless phone charging matt (its too small to fit any real modern smart charging cellphone), the blind spot alert in the side mirrors, and the trippy camera in the rear view mirror.

Im mainly considering it because i have an a10..i miss a manual and i enjoy the manual in the camaro over the mustang. Also the warranty will be nice for the cross country driving ill be doing soon.

Ultimately its down to the ss 1le vs mach 1. Manual. The forecasted mach 1 price makes it hard to swallow vs the 1le

Related to the rearview mirror, the regulations on sideview mirrors need to be changed. A wide-angle camera and screen would improve visibility and aerodynamics. Better aero is better fuel economy, so the polar bear lovers will be on board as well.
I disagree. I hate the camera+screen setup for the rear view mirror in the Camaro. You have to readjust your vision depth to look at a screen that is 14" in front of your face, and that takes your eyes a moment to adjust to it, then when you look back 100 feet ahead of you at the road, it takes another moment for your eyes to adjust to that. The same thing will happen with screens and cameras as side view mirrors.

With mirrors, no depth adjustment is necessary, because you are staring into the distance in the mirror.

Additionally, it is easy to adjust the side view mirrors to completely avoid a blind spot. Adjust them so that in your normal driving position, the inner portion of the mirror edges are just beyond the fenders of the car (you don't want to be able to see your fenders in the side view mirror). You can tweak it, but basically, you'll notice that the outer edges of the rear view mirror and the inner edges of the side view mirrors will show the same thing so there's no missing portion. Additionally, you should be able to see the rear fender of a car next to you in the mirror, while the front end of the car appears in your peripheral vision. It completely gets rid of blind spots and you don't have to look over your shoulder to merge or change lanes.

Sort of hard to compare a ZL1 with a NA Mustang GT or Coyote variant. Drive a Roush RS3 or GT500 and compare the two. I did sit in a ZL1 when I was in the process of buying mine and man those Recaro's were ".....Like a Rock....." I'd certainly have one though. There are indeed some nice bargains on them. They were just a little out of my reach to be financially comfortable, and my wife's shoe out of my posterior...

I agree. Its cool..but im not sure about it

Yep, I have a 2018 GT Premium PP1, A10, MagneRide that I love and I think it handles very well, drives nice, and is quicker than stock with the bolt ons and weight reduction I've done. I test drove a '21 ZL1 two weeks ago and noticed a substantial difference in the chassis, being much tighter and more precise, better steering, better handling, better transmissions programming, etc. Obviously, the ZL1 is a lot more money than a GT PP1 w/ MagneRide, and it shows when driving them back to back. All those things are better than my Mustang and the 650 hp is icing on the cake.

It was so good that earlier this week I placed an order for a new ZL1. I'll hate to see my Mustang go because I do love it, but that ZL1 was awesome. Performance wise a ZL1 matches or exceeds the Nissan GT-R (even the $200k+ NISMO edition) and new Acura NSX for way less money. It can even keep up with those cars stock for stock in a straight line (except from a dig due to the AWD). My only concern is some of the ergo fails of the Camaro, but I don't take the car on long trips so I think I'll learn to live with the small trunk and awkward door pockets and center console opening. I do think the driving position and the interior is sportier feeling than the Mustang as well.

For me it wasn't just the power difference over my Mustang, but the overall package as a performance vehicle is on another level and was worth the upgrade to me.

Looks are subjective but I just wasn't a fan of the Camaro's look from every angle. Performance wise, the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE are amazing cars, but I wanted something that I felt that I could step back, look at and be happy with the looks as well as the performance. Also, I am not brand loyal and a C7 Grand Sport was very high on my list of cars to get prior to the 350.
