Someone measure one up for a surfboard please?

Hi guys, I'm not getting my Mustang for a few months yet and it's gonna be our only car. I want to get a couple of surfboards and I was wondering if anyone could do me a favour and measure the inside space for a surfboard?

Could someone please measure the diagonal space in the back with the seats down when you've got the time. The other option would be to push the passenger seat forward as far as it will go, cause one of us can sit in the back behind the driver.

My other option is to fit a removable roof rack, but the potential damage to the paint concerns me with that option.

Why not run down to a dealership with a board?

I know this sounds funny but I fly R/C 3M+ sailplanes and did this when I purchased my last car. They were very accommodating.

How hard is it to just bring a board down, drop the seats on one of their cars and do a test fit?

That is a good suggestion. Personally I don't think any amount of measuring, especially by someone else, is going to tell you if your board(s) are going to fit.

I can fit a 156~160 cm snowboard in mine with the back seats down.
Plenty of room left.

I havent got a board. Im planning on buying one and if the difference is a couple of inches I may opt for a smaller one.

That's pretty funny!
Just grab (or buy) a tape and go to a lot and measure for yourself then buy accordingly. Hell, you can do it all in one trip out.
Seems like you have plenty of time.

Tbh a roof rack is probably gonna be the way to go anyway. Ill probably buy the board I want regardless, and if it doesn't fit when the car gets here, get a roof rack.
