2" headers???

Is there any negative going with 2” headers on a NA setup, or any advantage? The car is a 2019 get A10. I know people will say they are over kill but the 2" are in stock and 1 7/8 are not. Lol. I used 2” on all my corvettes but much bigger displacement. Lots of people use to say 2" headers were overkill for 600rwhp H/C/I C6Z06 but that was false. 2" had better peak hp and minimal to no loss of low end torque. Any dyno feedback you guys can share would be appreciated. Thanks

Normally I would say not to go with 2 inch on a <500 HP engine.

I remember reading several tests where the coyote likes the 2 inch tubes.


The coyote also likes to run richer than any other engine I have experience with, so I tend to believe the larger headers would be ok.

I personally don't recommend 2" headers unless it's a 1000+rwhp built. 1-7/8" work really well for NA setup and can easily support 1000+rwhp. I don't see a negative going with the 2" but then again I've never tried it on any of our NA builds. I also don't see any real positives going with them over a 1-7/8". Just my opinion though and not based of off facts or testing.

We have plenty of 1-7/8" headers in stock from 3 different manufacturers so feel free to reach out and I'll be glad to help you get into a set. With all of the options available I don't see any reason you should almost be forced to go with a 2" primary at this point.

Clearance. Those 2" primaries will end up hitting something on a 18+ Depending on brand even on the 15-17 it's no guarantee it'll clear everything. Let alone with you punch it and the engine torques over. Besides, 2 inch primaries are way overkill for any other as you mentioned, 1000+rwhp.

Great point about the fitment. 1-7/8" is close. The 2" would definitely have less clearance than those. Most people running 2" probably don't care about having to clearance things as those cars are 1000+ hp track cars and making modifications for them isn't a big deal. For just a normal customer though not everyone wants to do that. They want it to fit right from the get go.

Agreed 2” overkill and would probably drive you nuts chasing potential false knock on n/a setup.
