Hey guys

I still haven't figured out what this metallic spinning noise is. It's coming from the front left wheel area, and only when I turn right. It doesn't happen when I brake. I noticed I hear it for a split second when I hit small bumps in the road. I had steeda pro-action shocks and struts installed with ultralite springs and K-member bar. Nothing else new was installed in the front. It wasn't making the noise before the suspension was installed though. The brake dust shields were checked twice. The dust shields on my PP Brembos are the dust shields from the stock 4-piston brembos, but it never made any noise before the new suspension was installed, and the dust shields have been checked twice, they're not touching anything. We can't figure out what this noise is. Here is a clip of the noise. I had to swerve left then right over and over for it to make the noise, so It's not constant. Thanks guys!

Have you checked your wheel bearings?
No I haven't. I'm pretty upset at the shop now too. He's telling me, "How do I know that sound wasn't there before the install?" He said he's not going to spend hours tracing a sound, but It it's definitely a new sound. So when I take it back to him on Thursday, I need to have some good ideas of what it may be. I'll tell him to check the wheel bearings. I wonder why they would all the sudden be making noise.

I thought the same thing and my driver side rear wheel bearing was the culprit at 6500 miles. I had just installed a lot of new suspension components and of course I had a loud noise that would get louder at higher speeds and when I turned right. Mine wasn't metallic sounding though. I made a post about it here: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...ension-install-alignment.144457/#post-2965850

So I wouldn't put it past it being a wheel bearing but you never really know.

Hmm. I’m going to have to check it out. I hope that’s the problem. It’s crazy because it sounds like the dust shield. But it’s not touching anything. Like I said, it’s not the correct dust shields for my car, but they never made a noise before the suspension was installed. Maybe because it’s lower now? They are the 4-piston dust shields on my Brembos. But everyone says they are clear. So strange.

I would be surprised if it’s something besides a wheel bearing.

An easy way to completely rule out your dust shield is to take it off and go for a drive. I also had a wheel bearing on my right rear go out at 1000 miles. Mine made more of a chirping sound though. Yours does sound like something rubbing. Have you looked at your wheel well liner for any tire rubbing marks?
