WELL CRAP! Just got off call with Forgeline and dealer. They CANNOT make the wheels i want for the GT500! The forging blanks are too short! The wheels I wanted are Forgeline CF3C-SL Stepped Lip. I have a few other backup options now so have to do some research and thinking!
Bummer man, sorry to hear this.

I know someone selling a beautiful set of Signature SV302s wheels & tires.............

If you look close enough, absolutely you can see it. However, a good xpel job will have minimal visible edges. What I ask for when the car gets xpel is to wrap the edges where possible. Not all edges can be wrapped and making it completely invisible is not possible. Xpel on a car is something worthy of bragging off. It is something that is way above and beyond and quite frankly expensive. When it is done right, it is not only beautiful, but practical. Driving a car like this, with sticky tires, throws rocks everywhere. Ford paint is famous for being soft and thin. Take an exotic color, like some of the tri coats, and touching up and paint matching is very difficult. My body shop guy looked at my triple yellow and said that it would be very difficult to match and couldn't guarantee (my kind of) perfection. With xpel, when I hear the pebbles bouncing off of my car, I just smile and keep on going.

Various levels of xpel cost incremental amounts of money. A whole car is about $5K. I've heard of getting the bear minimum coverage in the $1.5Kish range. In my triple yellow R, the xpel has paid for itself in the damage it has prevented.

The GT500 I have on order has the $10K stripes (ouch). Thats something I plan to fully protect. Rapid red is metallic. Probably a difficult paint to match. I plan to track the car. For all of the above reasons, it's worth it to me to protect the paint with a full Xpel job.
I've put the Xpel on the GT500. Front all the way back to the doors, mirrors, roof and rockers. Also have CeramicPro Gold Lifetime on it. You can't see the edges of the Xpel as it is wrapped around the edges where possible. If you look real close you can see the edges where it can't be wrapped.

I have had a 2013 School Bus Yellow Boss 302 since new and track it heavily. It has had the same treatment done to it and the car looks like it came right off the showroom floor - even after 7 years of use.

Yep, xpel is amazing and a must have if you track. I put track tape over the xpel. Looks brand new

View attachment 495168 Well she is going under the knife, kinda, for the 1st time. I am removing the front bumper to install Raxiom LED headlights and diode dynamics smoked sequential front LED turn signals. Hope to have it done this weekend. Since I will have the front bumper off, assuming the lower black textured black pieces come off easily I will remove them, sand off the texture and paint black to match the middle of the front bumper. I also did a photoshop of painted front center bumper body color just to make sure i didn't like it. And i don't, black looks better. Will post pics when done.

Good job on the overlay, Tony but I'm sure most if not all agree, black is better. Without "the mouth," it looks like a Mustang. :-)
I completely agree Kent. Five days

Well spent 10 minutes and pulled the bumper last night. And have to say it was way simple, 1/2 dozen torx bolts in the wheel well, 2 10mm bolts holding bumper to fender, 1/2 dozen screws on the top, and since i didnt have the splitter on 3 bolts underneath. Unplug the parking lights, then it literally falls off. And it looks like i can unsnap the lower textured black pieces to get them painted.

DOES ANYONE have the paint code for the center bumper? Is it just standard Shadow Black?

AND can someone explain to me why the passenger side grill opening is closed? My OCD wants to cut it off.... I assume its for redirecting more air to the center but not sure why you couldnt leave it open then divert it behind the grill.......

I like to disassemble things.
Airflow in, airflow out.

Look behind the grille in the area you speak of as room is at a premium and "redirecting" would be a bit of a challenge and in the end, to what benefit? The GT500 is already moving a massive amount of air through the fascia. With the rain tray in place it is enough of a challenge as is to allow air to escape. The addition of the hood pins on the GT500 is indicative of the amount of hood lift they were seeing in development.

That particular comforter/quilt....which i must say is super heavy and thick, was appropriated to shop duty few years ago. So all is good, however there is a back story to its appropriation......
