Here's a pic. The diameter looks to be exactly the same as the rest of the pipes.Anyone that has an R model, what did for do with the res delete? is it straight piped? X pipe? Whats the pipe diameter if I wanted to replicate?
I replaced resonators with straight pipes on my GT350. The diameter of straight pipes on R is 2.75".Anyone that has an R model, what did for do with the res delete? is it straight piped? X pipe? Whats the pipe diameter if I wanted to replicate?
Only half HPOther than noise, does this mod gain anything?
A couple of horsepower maybe? Just curious.
That is hilarious!Only half HP
Any droning at all? did you have a muffler shop do it? what was the cost?I replaced resonators with straight pipes on my GT350. The diameter of straight pipes on R is 2.75".
No dronning. The guy who own muffler shop cut off resonators and welded straight pipes for $160 out the door.Any droning at all? did you have a muffler shop do it? what was the cost?
Are you sure its 2 3/4in? I just left a muffler shop and gentlemen said that's a very odd size, they would have to check to see if they can get a piece of that in stainless. Was it a 3 inch pipe they reduced at the tips to fit? He was trying to talk me into replacing my entire exhaust, maybe he didn't want to be bothered with a small job..No dronning. You may double check on the pipe size. No heat shields needed and I don’t have them on my. Make sure this guy can do good welding job. You don’t want hole in the exhaust. Are you sure its 2 3/4in? Were they able to reuse heatshield?
Specs show 2 3/4.. not even the speed parts shop stocks it.. did they use stainless on your car?You may double check on the pipe size. No heat shields needed and I don’t have them on my. Make sure this guy can do good welding job. You don’t want hole in the exhaust.
Yeah, didn’t have any problems with my. If you in NJ I can recommend my installer.Another muffler shop I called wont even cut stainless if I bought a piece
.. I'm perplexed so far.. thought this would be a piece of cake to get done
IMO, there's nothing to protect from heat. On the sides there's already heat protected material and between top and pipes there's a drive shaft and a lot of room for heet to evacuate. Also, those heat protectors on the top of the pipes are so thin and short, not sure why they on there to begin with.Any idea why the R has a heat shield, but when everyone does a delete they say it isn't needed?
