I know lethal got some decent HP gains from just the off-road midpipes and CAI/tune. How much more do you get with the full system like Kooks or ARH? Mid pipes being ~$200 ish and headers over $2,000, are we talking about another 5 WHP or another 30?

You saw what we saw in that thread. Over 500 hp with a goofed up tune at only 6k rpms. I would say once it get dialed in, it's going to be well worth it.

yes I've been following this thread. Really no good info yet with the tune dangerously lean. Waiting on the followup.

You would also see that the car made 30whp with no tune or intake. Lethal had intake and midpipes. Headers will change the car entirely.

A straight comparison between our pipes and the ARH system in that thread, we picked up 10 rwhp on the stock tune with our off road pipes (everything else stock), Voodoo picked up 30 rwhp. I'm not sure if us having the stock resonators hurts anything, but it doesn't surprise me the ARH system did much better. You will definitely make more power with a long tube on a motor like this that moves so much air and turns the RPM it turns.

$2k for headers and install is like the 5.0 header conundrum. I wonder if ford has an intake manifold for this car that is better than whats currently on it. $2k can go a long way for other mods that might net the same or more power, and less of a headache installing.

Actually not sure how hard (or easy) it is to install headers on the GT350.

What's the install like for the ARH long tubes? This may be one my first big upgrades and I like to do the work myself. Headers are usually a pain to install but does it require jacking up the engine, etc. or anything out of the ordinary? Also, what kind of coating do they have?

+1

Curious here as well. Want to do headers for my GT350 as the first mod.

Considering the engine type, I'm looking to see what happens in terms of throttle bodies and if someone ends up doing a monster intake. JLT has one yes, but I mean bigger than that even.

I made 30.4 rwhp on a stock tune with stock CAI. And 93. I made 511rwhp on a lean tune shutting it down at 6000rpm with the right tune, 2250 more rpm, and E85 I feel that 550 Rwhp is in the sights. That's about 640 crank hp. Stock headers won't get you to these numbers, either will eliminating the resonators.

Install was easy and straight forward. I used ARP 12point stainless bolts but even the ARH supplied bolts work fine. The removal and install took me about 4-1/2 to 5 hours. Removing the driver side is a breeze, the passenger side wasn't bad, the worse part was just removing the front nut. I only removed the passenger side motor bracket, (not the mount rubber) and starter. On the driver side I only removed the steering u-joint from the rack and pinion only. I did not loosen the firewall mount nor did I remove the driver side motor mount. Once you get the stock exhaust off it goes fast and easy.
I did my install by myself, one tip is if you do this alone, before installing the headers place the most forward lower header bolt and the lower rear bolt to hold the gasket in place and it allows you to rest the header on the flange slots. Once it sits on the slots then you can start installing the rest of the bolts. Also do not tighten them tight until both headers are on. The reason is so you can get them both level and equal to each other at the collector.
No coating is needed. They are made from high quality 304 stainless steel. Not the crappy 409 stainless. After about 30 minutes of road pulls the headers were cool enough to not burn yourself.

As some of you know months ago I trial fit a cobra jet intake manifold and mono blade tb. The intake hit the hood and would not allow it to shut by over 1". Their is no room to drop the engine to clear the Cj intake. The oil pan to k member clearance is around 5/8-3/4" as stock. I really think the stock intake and TB is restricting this motor. I considered having hogan make a new intake manifold but at this time I'm holding out until I see what the market brings. Watson and I think with the right tune, E85 and the ARH system that 640 crank hp and 550 rwhp is in the grasp. A better flowing intake manifold would push it even further! Maybe ill contact hogan now.

Well I just contacted Tim at hogan manifolds. He's sending me a Email to take measurements that I can send back to him along with engine info. Once they receive that we will go from there. I know I'm being optimistic but could you imagine 650-700hp from a unopened voodoo! I'll keep you guys informed.
