Doubtful that be coming to UK based on this from Piston heads. Seems it was the EU that stopped us getting the GT350 then!

“Mach 1 has a special place in Mustang history, and it’s time for this special edition to claim the top spot in our 5.0-litre V8 performance line-up and reward our most hardcore Mustang enthusiasts who demand that next level of power, precision and collectability,” said Dave Pericak, director of Ford Icons. “Like the original, the all-new Mustang Mach 1 will be true to its heritage, delivering great looks and as the most track-capable 5.0-litre Mustang ever.”

Frankly, we're persuaded (we don't need much persuading when it comes to fast Fords). But it will likely take an army of willing participants to see the car officially imported. Reputedly, Ford toyed with the idea of the selling the GT350 in the UK - only for it to encounter a wall of EU legislation and noise concerns. Given the lower entry point, the Mach 1 is likely to be even further down the list of priorities. Of course, that won't prevent the car from appearing in specialist showrooms; just expect its niche appeal to be reflected in the price tag.

Do you have any concept of what premium S550’s cost since the 18’ refresh? Everyone back in 17’ screamed about how no one would spend $50k for a Mustang, now it’s commonplace. Mach 1 fans will be lined up with money in their hands regardless of the price. Many think we will be in the $55/$60k range. Considering what the Mach 1 might be that could be a steal.

Regarding the GT350, don’t bet on it. With Ford moving towards EV’s the GT500 and Mach 1 could be the end of the line for pure ICE powered cars. Anyone wanting a new GT350 should get one now.
I can clearly remember the real introduction of the EPA "muscle cars" of the early 70s when today's escape could take a 440 roadrunner of 1973. The cars were so slow and for years all we heard is that it is the "end of and era".
Oil is still so cheap vs any other form of energy that unless the EPA mandates no "fossil fuel" cars I believe there will always be something available.
The comment about get the GT350 while you can makes sense. I agree. Should have picked one up over the Bullitt. Regret that....

I'm baffled by the "It's still a damn 5.0." comment[?] Is there's some price per L we're supposed to be capped at ... ? :cwl:

Not a fan of that grille. That would be #1 on my 'to replace' list.

I totally agree that there will be something, but that something will most likely be a hybrid. Now I have no issue with that but the day of the pure ICE super Mustang is quickly coming to an end.

If it comes to an end for the Mustang, it will be the end for all American ICE cars.

i doubt ICE vehicles will be gone within 10yrs. If Hybrid/Ev becomes cheaper and oil goes crazy. that will help transition to that future faster.

I’m sure In the distance future will see the ICE go by the way of horses, but people still have and use horses. I will still be one of those burning hydro carbons in one of my classics:)

I think Ford wants to homogenize the 5.0, so that upgrade are avail through Ford Performance, etc.

Mach 1 (somewhat tied to the Mach E), will be Ford's most capable Mustang ever... because it will use the outgoing GT350's bits, & possible underpinnings. The M1 will serve as an all-around performance bargain. I just hope it come with an optional Tremec & A10... (I'd even pay $5k for a DCT).

But all and all, the Mustang M1 will give you GT350-like-performance, at Five-0 prices (& availability). A refinement of the s550... GT using 350 bits.

I think that grey grille looks to be 3D printed. I do remember seeing an article how they were 3D printing parts for the GT500 during development

Why not put the 5.2 GT500 engine in less the blower?
The GT500 engine is a niche line engine not designed for mass production plus Ford will keep the 5.2 exclusive to the GT500.

I heard that Ford said it would be the most powerful 5.0 they’ve made. Any ideas how they can accomplish this?
