Can't believe what I just stumbled upon. Diamond in the rough. Modded up but can be modded down. A Base Model R for sale on ebay with a Buy it Now of $50k.

Yes, I have looked at that car a couple times (on eBay)
I would really like to have that R but I am scared of paying $50,000 for a car that has no AC and seems to have been tracked a lot.

I certainly get your concerns as feel much the same way.

Having said that I just found out that a terrific friend of mine (only a couple years younger than me) in S.C. is selling his 2016 R with this guy being as anal as I am with respect to taking care of his cars and I know this car from day one.

He has a lift in his garage and I remember us doing his first oil change on that car shortly after he bought it and has probably changed the oil once or twice again already.

Mileage is believe is ~975 miles and only been out to local car events since new and can without question call this a pristine R model and has the Electronics Package and is Oxford White with Blue OTT stripes and of course the Red pinstripe.

He has run out of room as has owned a '65 GTO coupe for ~20 years and bought my 2013 Pilot Production Boss 302 many years ago and also has a 2020 R model with the HEP option on order therefore he has to let one car go.

Don't know his pricing but suggest that he would certainly want more than $50,000 for this car but no idea how much more.

For anyone that wants a no stories R model this is certainly one of them!

What a moron. He parted out the wheels. Without the CF OEM wheels that came with the car, it is no longer collectable IMHO. All his 1 of 3 garbage is exactly that, garbage. Engine replacement? Then he pimps the car out with all the other junk?

Whos car is this? Anybody here?

I agree, market is down. There's even a GT500 at MSRP listed on ebay now.

Cool looking car and 1 of 17 Base R's built in Oxford White for the 2016 MY.

The only aspect of this car that does not look right to me is the trunk tray being in place and suggest that maybe the owner installed it himself otherwise the other ~15 delete items are probably all in tact.

My experience after watching eBay adds for many years is that this car will not reach the original MSRP or Reserve Price and will sell outside of this auction and probably even before this auction ends.

A great opportunity for anyone looking for 1 of only 135 R's ever produced.

Based on looking at the website for the listing agent they are looking for $62,900 for this car which is $1000 below the original MSRP.

Nice find and on the plus side a very early built 2016 R and in the Base R configuration (1 of 135 cars in total) along with a terrific and rare color combination.

On the negative side it has lots of miles, bumper sag, CF wheel rash, ugly looking locking lug nuts and probably will require a new set of tires real soon.

That could work but you might want to call this dealership and ask them the background on this car based on the very early chassis number and suggest that this car was built in July or August of 2015 therefore one of the very first 2016 R's out there.

Attached is a picture of a 2015 GT350 that I picked up for a friend and drove it back to S.C. with this 2015 GT350 being a former Ford exec car with this dealership purchasing this 2015 GT350 at auction.

This dealership likes to purchase cars from the Manheim Auto Auctions in the Detroit (Ford's most used auction house) area and suggest this R model may have been either a former Ford exec car or possibly a former Track Attack car for when many of us were test driving some of these very early R's back in 2015.

Certainly an Oasis Report could help you out but also suggest that this dealership may be able to provide you with some background on this car as to where it has spent the last 5 years of it's life?
