What a silly comment about the 'tyrannical British government'. What on earth does that add to the discussion other than a cheap shot about ancient history? It certainly is irrelevant to a pandemic 300 years later. If you still justify your system on something you feel you needed 300 years ago rather than on what is best now how is that something to boast about ?
Ancient history to you, seems like yesterday to us.

I think the US is doing a fantastic job of controlling the spread of COVID19 - there, does that make you feel better ? (I don't by the way)

How about the US under the leadership of President Donald J Trump is doing a fantastic job, that will be accepted as an apology for your unfair criticisms.

You might be getting on but I'm pretty sure you are not that old !
You do realize that 90% of our founding documents and constitution are directly as a result of the tyranny we withstood from Great Britain, right?

Yeah. Wonder why the UK still has a monarch...such an ancient practice. And the whole "constitutional monarchy" without a written constitution...and the whole United Kingdom without a kingdom. Can't we just all erase history every ten years and start over?

Hardly the only country to still have a monarch. Why not ?

UK refers to England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland - all very much still in existence

You don't erase history, but you do move on - or at least we have

Moved on but a product of your history, just as the U.S. is. We were born of the American Revolution, which from a European perspective was simply a minor element of the Seven Years War. Nevertheless, every American principle ties back to that, to include the controversial gun control arguments, and in particular the "decentralization" that looks like chaotic disjointedness to others. Understanding and respecting it, as others respect a kingdom of four nations, at least two of which are less than totally happy to be part of the kingdom, respect the UK's historical foundations. That simple.
