Link to this info. I thought they were saving the hybrid for the ZR1.
That could be. I didn’t get the exact model that was the hybrid. I just got a little bit of the design details. I assumed it was the z06 but he might have said he was working on the zr1

chevy won’t have a turbo or supercharged version. The z06bwill be a hybrid. 5.3 with 2 electric motors to drive the front wheels. But I see your point regardless.
If it is, expect the base car to start over $100K, and with options be a $120-130K+ car.

The side profile pic they showed of the Vette makes it look like a Lambo that's had a few too many donuts.
Looks aside, it's a front engine vs mid engine car comparo, with the Vette carving corners and the Shelby eating up the straights with all that power. No surprises IMO. They both get it done, but in a different way.

Ok, so now the GM nut swingers have more excuses.

They tested the heaviest C8
The C7 ZR1 is faster
Randy Pobst is inferior to random YouTube Z1E driver
Z1E might still be faster
Ford is scared to go against the Z1E
Vettes and Mustangs aren’t in the same class

and on and on and on

Facts are facts. Both cars are very impressive but based on Randy’s times the GT500 is the faster car at VIR, with the CFTP being significantly faster. That’s the facts.

I am sure the C8 could get better lap times if it had been wearing R-compound Sport Cup 2s too.

A GT500 with no options vs the C8 with the Z51 package and Magnaride suspension upgrade.
I believe the Base GT500 had the handling package, recaros and entertainment package. Test car was over $80K

Yes it was I think I put the exact price in my other post. I put all the options you would need to be equally option in both vehicles.

And yet on the same tires it got its ass kicked.
With 265 more HP and a track with little corners and huge straightaways, the C8 did very well and would not call it a ass kicking.

then why did the base gt500 with the same tires as the vette beat it?

To be fair, most of the folks over there who actually track their cars are in agreement that the GT500 is a performer. It's just those 1 or 2 keyboard warriors that continue to evolve their caveats/excuses as more data is released. I still don't understand why some thing Ford or GM have any input on what a magazine does from a comparison perspective. Motor Trend did not choose to pit the GT500 against the ZL1, so that means Ford is somehow afraid of something....?

Besides, does it even mean anything to a GT500 buyer is the all-out track version of the ZL1 records a faster time on any given track? Strip or track, those of us who frequent those locations know that the driver has everything to do with which one is faster. Anybody who says otherwise is not speaking from experience.

The C8 did much better than I expected after it's first matchup with a C7. The track alignment was HUGE.
