Looks great - orange fury is my favourite!

What is the issue with the front parking sensor?

Nothing they work perfectly but clash completely with the Roush front end I’ve purchased which replaces the lower grill and the corner pockets. Both of which conflict with the sensors.

So I’ll have to remove the parking sensors annoyingly !

Actually look much cleaner than I expected them too. How do they work inside, just a separate on/off button?

I had the option of linking them to the rear sensors or a separate switch. I chose the former which meant you have to put car into reverse first to activate them.

This is academic now as I’ve deactivated them for the reasons you’ll see shortly !

So I had a really productive day today, sit back grab a beer and feast your eyes on this changes !!

First up was the Roush rear diffuser install, took less than 10mins to install. If only all the changes were this simple !

Next up was the wing badges and changing them from chrome to gloss black to keep the black theme going !

I’m not going lie these were a pig to remove but dental floss did the job well.

Removing the residual trim tape was a doddle now I’ve discovered a caramel wheel which removes the sticky pad residue with ease !

I had to sacrifice the old badges to get them off !

Onwards and upwards I decided bravely to tackle the front end with all the Roush bits wow what a royal pain in the arse that was.

I’m quite comfortable with taking the bumper of which went well. But the Roush templates are way off and I spent ages working out where to cut the notches and holes for belly pan fitment in the chin spoiler.

I also didn’t want to drill any holes in the paint work as I want to return the car back to stock eventually. So I had to modify the Roush corner scoops to remove the need for fixings and instead use (lots) of 3M tape to secure it in place.

the Roush lower grill was a b@57@rd to fit and I really struggled on my own !

Then came the nightmare of trying to fit the new chin spoiler with the lower grill on my own. This really wound me up and I think the neighbours thought I’ve developed Tourettes!

It was such a pig I didn’t take any pics as I was wrestling with the parts the whole time. Ended up taking a lot longer than I thought too so it was pitch black when I finished so excuse the rubbish after pics. I’ll get some better ones tomorrow !

I know its a bit late now, but in case anyone else wishes to swap out the wing badges, heat them up with a hot air gun first, makes peeling the old ones of a piece of p***.

99% of the 3M tape comes off with them, a quick wipe with isopropyl and all is good to stick the new ones on, took me less than 5 mins to do both wing badges and front grille badge on mine.

Alfa Male, how come you changed out the rear deck lid to one without the horizontal groove in the middle ?

I far prefer the look of the lid with the groove, (apologies for mucky car)

I probably missed a bit, but can I ask why you changed cars so quickly?

In fairness I did use a heat gun to start with but the badges were not shifting !

re rear deck lid the simple reason was that I already had the smooth deck lid so used that rather than buying a new one. To be honest I prefer the cleaner look.

Very minor tweak done over the weekend. I’ve upgraded the pitiful Interior boot light to a more potent LED strip. Perhaps gone from one extreme to the other but at least I can see clearly in the boot in the dark now !

Also felt the need to complement this with a new boot mat as it’s so visible now !!
