The 3.5 0-60 is the GT Performance Pack option that won't be available until Spring of 2021 I read this morning. What's that going to cost, probably $70K plus?
So? Regardless of what version it is and when it is going to be available Ford will have an electric vehicle that is faster to 60 than a Mustang GT.

MSRP is $60,500. Add to that possible Federal and state tax credits and your looking at low to mid 50’s. That stacks up pretty good to the rest of the market.

I know many of us are in “hate” mode right now. That said let’s give the product people props for building a pretty decent vehicle.

I agree, the giant tablet Tesla like screens in cars looks terrible. I am not some geezer anti-tech, but it is easier and safer to have tactile controls with buttons for most basic functions. I like how my '18 Mustang GT Premium does it, all controls can be done with the decent size screen, but it also has the ability to control the HVAC and basic radio features with real buttons, which is a great plus.
Yep, the *last* thing I want in my car is a giant screen that forces me to take my eyes off the road just to change the temperature. Stupid,

I don't see anyone talking about how Tesla, as a business model is a total failure. They haven't made a profit yet...and you want me to believe its a good thing for Ford to follow that type of business model? And doing so while wrecking an iconic name...I buy base cars for a simple reason, I don't need all that tech, I rarely even tune into a radio station in a car where the exhaust sounds better than almost anything else I can think of. Electric cars are heartless, they take away the very reason why I love my Mustang so much.

It's not about the Mach e itself, it's that it's being managed in a manner that's doing the ponycar no favors. When Ford feels free to spend the Mustang's equity as an icon on an entirely different sort of vehicle, it makes me wonder what their future plans for the ponycar itself might be.

Absolutely infuriating. They should have just called it what it is, the Ford Karen.

Agreed. Not only does the enormous tablet look ridiculous, it's just another distraction for all the crappy drivers out there.

I think building a vehicle that is the complete opposite of everything that the iconic Mustang represents and sticking Mustang on it is a slap in the face to all of us former and current Mustang owners. It's literally Ford giving us a huge middle finger. They could have called it almost ANYTHING else. The Ford Karen sounds much more appropriate.

So...if all you wanted is the fastest 0-60 you wouldn't even have a Mustang GT. There's already electric (and non-electric) vehicles that will beat a Mustang GT to 60. According to this article https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/ford-mustang-mach-e-electric-suv-price-msrp-features/ "Ford hasn't yet announced pricing for the range-topping GT Performance Edition, which gets bigger wheels and some other goodies and is able to hit 60 mph in around 3-and-a-half seconds." So the performance pack GT will be more and the rebates don't stay at $7500 forever. They only said the max $7500 is likely to be around for about year after it goes on on sale.

I don't hate the car. It looks like a very good EV. It just dilutes the Mustang brand. No matter how fast it's 0-60 is. Plus, I'd wager the cornering is nowhere close to what my PP2 will do. Maybe in time I'll get over it and just keep looking at the 2 door models if/when I upgrade again.

How ridiculous does it sound to have to say "the 2 door models"? I'll have a Coke Classic please.

You seem to have your rose-colored glasses on for this vehicle. It hasn't been built or tested by anyone yet. You certainly haven't driven one unless you have some in with Ford. How do you know it's "pretty decent"? Just the appearance of the prototypes and the specs you've been given?

The Mustang GT isn't fast 0-60 compared to some other vehicles, I agree. If 0-60 is super important to you, I don't think you are going to want a Mach E either.

To me the federal and state $$ are a disincentive. I don't want to be a party to the government confiscating people's money and using it to pay for something like this. It smells so much of government/industry corruption I can't even stand it. I don't want a government handout for my next vehicle at all, or any vehicle ever.

If you own a large screen LCD/LED TV check to see if was made. Also a landline telephone. Pretty good chance they were assembled in Mexico. Mexico is no different than any other country. Personally I’d rather see goods being made in Mexico vs. China or Southeast Asia.
My post did not talk about a TV, it was about a car.

I went to sign the petition then realized something....Ford doesn't care about what we think! Its obvious, they are now catering to the left coast crowd, wouldn't shock me if Ford starts spending money on global warming ads now too. This is what happens when a leftist agenda meets millenials in charge of a major company and they decide to ruin the brand in front of the eyes of millions of die hard fans. Bye Bye Ford...you lost me for good over this one. Enjoy that future where nobody buys your poor quality crap, that future where you build all your cars in Mexico and China like we know you really want to do.
Mike, please stop. Let's keep the political comments over on the Members Forum. You may or may not like the Mach-E as a vehicle or because of the Mustang name. Neither of those have anything to do with the "worldwide" shift from fossil fuels to alternate power sources. Right now the best mobile solution is electric. That may change in the future but every automotive manufacturer is either selling or designing electric vehicles right now. This have nothing to do with California, a leftist agenda or Millennial's. As far as where the car's are made, well that's pure economics. Why is your cellphone made in China, your large screen TV in Mexico. Manufacturers will build where they get the most return on investment. I'm sure Ford has their reasons for building the Mach-E in Mexico. Would I preferred a US built vehicle? Sure, but that's not happening.

By the way, I do agree with your first comment which is why I signed the petition. Based on what is going on in social media maybe Ford will hear us. The vehicle isn't coming for another year. The name can still be changed.

How many in here are going to buy a Mach-e? Exactly. So who cares where it's built. What it's call. Etc. This is a Mustang in name only. I dont know why they even provided a link to a sub forum.
