The Verus Engineering rear diffuser group buy is here. This was a limited production piece CFD tested by Verus and offered for all S550 Models. Fitment on the GT350 has proven to be quite beautiful as well. I was fortunate to obtain one of the last pieces available, and after much interest I have organized a group buy to get them back into production. This will likely be a one shot deal, and Verus was gracious enough to entertain it. It has been made clear that outside of this group buy the rear diffusers may not be available again anytime soon. One of those times where it is best to make a move now.

Rear diffusers are made from aluminum and matte black powder coated. GT350 models with differential coolers will need to make modifications to the Verus piece, while tech pack/GT cars can bolt right on. Diff cooler cars will need to remove your OEM rear diffuser, take off the OEM NACA duct that feeds the rear diff cooler, mock the OEM NACA ducts onto the Verus piece, cut the NACA ducts on the Verus piece, and reattach the OEM NACA ducts onto the verus piece. Installation should be achievable in a few hours time with some basic hand tools and cutting apparatus like a dremel or small jig. It’s an easy process and well worth the end result.

Trent Musser of Cortex Racing in Sonoma, California is more than happy to work with anyone that needs installation done or troubleshooting. They did a great job on mine and took 2-3 hours. Benefits of the rear diffuser, additional data, photos, and install instructions can be found on the web page for Verus below.

We need a minimum of 15 paid orders to make this happen. Diffusers will take 6-8 weeks to build. Retail cost on these is 559.95 + Shipping. The group buy will remain at the retail cost of 559.95, but include free shipping which is a $70-$90 value. Applicable to the contiguous 48 states only. A 50% deposit is needed to get your name on the list and nothing happens until we get the initial 15. Group buy will run until 11/30/19. If we don’t meet the minimum then all money gets returned.

*** I spent a little time under the rear of a 2020 GT500 last week and the rear cooling setup is basically the same as the GT350/R. This should work for that platform as well**

That is a very expensive sheet of powder coated aluminium! I'm sure it works well, but still expensive!

I've read reports of guys picking up 3 mph of straightaway speed with just this piece. Three mph for $600 is actually a stunning bargain in the racing world.

Yes, but where i live i can get a 2 x 1 metre sheet of 2mm aluminium for $25. 2 days to cut it and make brackets to mount it, and another $75 to powder coat it black.

All in $100 dollars and 2 days work.

Ok. Go do that.

Do these fit the 2018 GTs?

What is important to remember is that anyone can build something, but it is a different process to engineer it properly. I can build my own house for far less than what a contractor would charge, but it will likely not perform the same. The components here went through CFD testing and have been proven to work. I do not discourage anyone from building components on their own, but I also wouldn’t find it prudent to say you could produce an equally efficient product with $100 and 2-days work. Trust me, you wont be able to.

Terrance any update?
Yes sir, we are in the production phase!
Ok. Go do that.

You bet man. The mounting brackets have some adjustment to work with various aftermarket mufflers as well.

I'm not detracting from this being a quality piece, but it is still expensive for what it is. A very simple diffuser design.
I specialised in aero at University, and making a diffuser that works is not difficult. Just need to make sure you get your angles right. Most of the time your actual limitations are what the cars chassis can provide as far as design and space. But the making of the diffuser is not difficult.

I will :like:

I ordered too. I have 18. I believe they are original created for the GT and adapted for the shelby
