HPDE Plans for 2019 (Track/Club/Group/Dates)

Hello everyone. I'm Mike, and I am new to this forum having spent most of my time on the S197forum with my '09 Mustang GT. Big fan of the new GT350/350Rs. I ran with MVP at Road Atlanta in late November and enjoyed learning more about the new S550 Mustangs from their drivers. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at future HPDE events. Here are my plans, what are yours?:

NCM Motorsports Park / MVP Track Time / HPDE 3/4 / 13 & 14 April

Barber Motorsports Park / Just Track It / HPDE 3/4 / 01 & 02 June

Road Atlanta / Just Track It / HPDE 3/4 / 20 & 21 July

Road Atlanta / Chin Motorsports / HPDE 3/4 / 26 & 27 October

Did I meet any of you at the November Road Atlanta HPDE event with MVP in the Advanced/Solo Group?



Consider me the "slow guy" in my full weight 10 year old 3V fixed rear axle 5 speed "Flying Brick" LOL you should all be faster than by 3+ seconds:

I won a free day with MVP last year, so i have to use that this year. But I probably won't do NCM since that's 2 weeks before I'm running a marathon. I'll probably only run 1 event this year since I'm looking to buy a house and that'll eat a lot of savings.

Hey, nice driving.
Nothing locked in just yet but am looking at 4-6 days in the spring(march to may) timeframe at Barbers and RA, 1 day at NCM around July, and then 4-6 days in the fall( September-Dec) timeframe at Barbers and RA.

I’ll be going to NCM for the first time on 13 & 14 April with MVP Track Time. I drafted a “HPDE Guide for Beginners” several years ago that I’ll post this week. I think you’ll find it helpful.

I was in the Advanced Group at Atlanta, I remember your car, but I am not sure if we met or not. I will also be at NCM with MVP in April. All the track boys from the St. Louis area are having our annual dinner this Friday and I will have a better idea of my schedule for next year after that.

Once my other car's warranty expires in 3 years, I'll be retiring (selling) the Mustang GT, and making the other car my primary track car.... '13 Corvette Grand Sport so I can play with the GT350s.

-Road America with the Northwoods Shelby Club April 27 and 28

-Brainerd International Raceway June 3rd

Looking forward to Road America - I've never driven there before.

I'm hoping to find some dates for SCCA track night at Dakota County Technical College to run the Porsche. DCTC is super close to my house and I really want to give the 944 a try on a small track.

I don't have any lap times for you. I'm not to that level of experience where I think it makes sense for me to be pushing for time. I'm just trying to have a good time and be safe on track.

That's why there are different run groups from novice to intermediate to advanced. Go out and have fun!

I was in the Advanced/Solo Group with MVP in an old S197 5 speed 3V Mustang at Road Atlanta.... no problems there.

Will any basic instruction be offered on the MVP track weekend for NCM In April? My group as some track experience but it is always nice to get a little instruction from people who know the track better and to help learn the line a little quicker. I always find that makes the weekends a bit more enjoyable and safer to know a bit more. Thanks in advance. Also, most of my buddies aren't mustang owners and is it open to other brands or is this a mustang only event? Thanks so much!
