I have the Conti's based on advice from nastang87xx and honey badger. As good performance or better performance than the Michelin for far less coin.

I had the extreme contact sports on my 03 Cobra. Loved them.

Funny story about the Uvalde Proving Grounds. Im in the Tire Business, Continental hosts a driving program out there for their top performers (Sales). We were testing the dry braking performance on Chevy Silverado outfitted with the Continental Cross Contact LX20 and another Silverado Equipped with the Michelin LTX M/S2. The Conti's stopped about 15' sooner. 15' is a lot for 2 different Premium tires.

Long story short I was looking at the Tire Pressures on the HUD and the supervisor comes up and asks what i'm doing. I said just trying to check the air pressure in these Michelin's. He Replied: We actually dont have that info for you we remove the TPMS Sensors. So why would you remove the TPMS System....... Different tire pressures yield different stopping distances.

If your going to rig a test make it close at least LOL

I agree it could be to get a desired test result, but it could also be the frequency of tire changes/mounting. For example, the GT350 track attack cars don't use the TPMS systems. I wanted to see how much the pressure changed throughout the day, but that info wasn't available. The instructor said that they change tires so frequently that they don't use them.

Having never changed a tire myself, I don't see why changing the tires would affect the valve stem (don't the mounting machines clear that part of the rim?), but that was what I was told. Just another possible perspective.

The TPMS is easy to work around for a Tire Changer. The only way a TPM Sensor can get ruined is if the Tires bead gets into the drop center of the wheel where the TPM is installed also. But industry practice it to keep the TPM 180° from the tires drop into the center so it eliminates the possibility of that happening. These are Chevy Silverados not GT350s lol. I see your point exactly though.

Also I talked with some of the event supervisors All the vehicles that we were driving were leased from the manufacturers. So the TPMS have to get reinstalled before the Cars/Trucks were returned.

Uvalde is one of the only Tire test tracks in the country. Which Continental ownes but they do rent the facility to other tire manufacturers. Could only imagine what that costs. LOL

IMHO Tire Rack has the best testing and reviews for non-biased opinions.
