Wait for a sale at Lethal Performance, American Muscle, Beefcake Racing, etc. Significant savings when on sale . I got a 1000 hp DSScarbon fiber driveshaft a little over a year ago for $975 shipped. My next mod...any updates, sales, or recommendations on where to buy?
Tell us about the drive!I have done the install and everything went perfect except the color coding of the rear differential flange section. See my picture. Basically my driveshaft had mismatching colors. The way it came is exactly how I installed it. Basically the orange lines that align the adapter to the driveshaft were on the "green" weight part of the driveshaft. There was no way to arrange it such that orange lines would end up in the "orange weight" part of the driveshaft AND also align with the adapter. I thought long and hard and I decided to install it as it came. Which is basically the weight colors match to the dots. And the orange lines line up but orange lines are NOT on the orange dot part of the driveshaft.
I did 40 miles of driving and did not notice any issues.![]()
2nd this. I've had a QA1 before and another CF DS in my Boss. Was a great improvement in the Boss. Very noticeable. Smoother driveline and less chunking and clunking driveline. But that was with the MT82 and a solid rear axel. I'm not really in a hurry to do this in my R. There is zero, I mean zero driveline sloppiness. It's amazing how tight and smooth it is. Not sure I want to take a chance and wind up F'ing that up.Tell us about the drive!

My QA1 did not come with an adapter plate for the Hellcat. So basically I can't offer anything for you other than to say put the DS thru it's RPMs to feel any vibrations. You should know it if it happens. Try not to mistake an improperly balanced tire for the driveline vibrations. Nittos DR's were/are notorious for vibration as they are hard to balance. Weather really played a role too with the rubber compound.Ok regarding the drive:
- There is much LESS NVH with the QA1 than I had with the stock drive shaft. Noticeable improvement.
- The initial “thud” and “clunk” you hear when letting go off the clutch is gone. Sloppiness of the driveline is gone.
- Car does accelerate smoother. Feels a lot more like a proper high end sports car. For example when I got my ZR1, the first thing I noticed was how there was no sloppiness between clutch gas and acceleration. GT350 feels like that now.
But I am concerned about why my colors were off like that. I also dont know if installing it the way i did was correct but I think it was.
I am going to heed your advice and my better judgement as this time on it. No reason for me to do this mod at this time.I would just keep your R as it is. Don't fuck with it.
This mod reminds me of my MGW shifter decision. “Man, this stock shifter is amazing. Hands down the best factory shifter I’ve ever had in a car....there’s NO WAY it can be improved upon that’s much. There’s no reason for me to do this mod at this time!” LOL. Don’t let @Niz55 punk you out like that bro...do it! (@Niz55 ...you know I’m just messin with ya!)I am going to heed your advice and my better judgement as this time on it. No reason for me to do this mod at this time.
