You don't understand physics, nor how transmissions work. That in bold is the most ridiculous thing you've said yet.
We can’t change a transmission?

The alternative is EV then. Try building excitement - in the traditional way - with that car...

No. This is for the engineers.
Engineers who are mustang enthusiasts are still performance enthusiasts.

If cars speeds get regulated down by computer and if roads get calmed by self-driving cars. How are you going to build driving excitement?
If this happens, driving excitement will not happen on public roads. It will be limited to the track, watercraft, atv's, etc.

You want an EV. Get a damn EV.

I saw that coming and tried to beat you to it. Like I said , EV is a nice place to visit but you would not want to live there. It all about feeling and such as you drive. A quiet isolated experience even if fast a low speeds is wanting...

It's already there with the Coyote. If you didn't get excited, you didn't push the pedal down at all.

The Austin Mini at 55 felt faster... ...,.
Go get one of those, then. Miata, fox body, Austin, 3/4 ton truck, LS7 vette, Tesla....I don't care..... You continually come up with all sorts of things wrong with the S550 that other cars/trucks/go karts do better. It sounds like an S550 just isn't the right car for you.

As engineers you can’t raise the white flag that quickly. You guys are better than that!

That’s a high revving car. Will it really deliver in Hong Kong traffic? Which will soon be our traffic.

....because you're such an expert on engineering, right?

No. I’m a guy who wants driving excitement where everyone drives slow. This actually exists in Toronto (if you know what I mean) but will soon be the norm in about 5 years. What will performance cars do in that environment. With dash cams, red light cameras, ecm controlled speeds, what will you guys be able to offer the performance car enthusiast?

And here I was going to tell engineermike that the 7.3 offers driving excitement in a world with low speed limits. An alternative to the Miata....
Every car I can think of that's designed to be fun at lower speeds have small, high strung engines, and super low gears so you can get a couple of shifts in before hitting the speed limit. Miata, Z3/4, S2000 are just a few examples.

Emissions - except for California - are disappearing. They disappeared here in Toronto on April 1. Now it is just CAFE...
Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. Even though your local folks may not test emissions anymore, the OEMs still have many very strict emissions limits. The EPA regulates CO, NOx, HC, particulates...etc. This is why particulate filters on gas engines are coming. You really don't have a clue what you are talking about here.

The world will soon embrace EV and nobody will care about exhaust emissions for a few thousand specialty cars. That is what is ending emissions testing now believe it or not.

How about we make a Mustang that is slightly slower than a typical car. Slower than a BRZ. A car that you have to drive all out just to keep up. But deliver on all the performance only with a smaller motor.

All out at legal speeds. Your commute is always a race!

Think outside the box!
