Anyone Solve Spare Tire Issue for PP GT's

Looking for information on how others solved the PP1 GT's spare tire issue? What type of spare did you get?

Somebody is making a spare for our cars. I think it was a little expensive, but whatever. I dont have the link handy, but a search should turn it up.

I have a two sets of tires, so if I think Ill need a spare on a longer trip Ill just throw a fullsize in the trunk.

Seriously tempted to buy one of these! I have a Mustang GT PP, 2018, and within the first week, I had to call Ford to pickup my car because of a flat tyre. Well, it actually had a serious cut to the tyre wall.

Seriously tempted to buy one of these! I have a Mustang GT PP, 2018, and within the first week, I had to call Ford to pickup my car because of a flat tyre. Well, it actually had a serious cut to the tyre wall.

I bought spare tire kits for both my BMWs, even though they came with runflats. Only time I ever used one was when I got a sidewall cut in one of the runflats (with the result that it didn't want to run at all).

Glad I also bought the jack. I called AAA and they quoted 1.5 - 2 hours before they could get to where I was. Took me about 20 minutes to do the whole thing by myself with the little scissor jack.

Looking for information on how others solved the PP1 GT's spare tire issue? What type of spare did you get?

I got a late model Explorer/Taurus spare off ebay for $50 shipped. The overall diameter is a good match but it fits on the rear only. I think it might fit on the front with a spacer just like they use with the $450 spares to fit on the GT350.

I bought the Automotive Authority wheel/tire/jack combo, eventually got it into the spare well (requires either shaving or lubrication) and hope I never see it again.

I opted to put a tire plug kit, jack and pump instead of a spare. Should work for most flats, will be SOL if I shred a tire or rip a sidewall. Most of the other options were very pricey and would only solve the rear, at least this way if I get a nail I can take care of front or rear.

The spare tire kit I got from automotive authority is for the PP1 brembo pkg cars. The spare tire kit,(no other accessories) was 399. Trust me if you have a flat without one it's a all day affair to get going again and you are at the mercy of the tow truck driver not to damage your ride.
