With regard to the color "Grabber Blue", it's very pleasant and cheerful—in small doses. I'm not sure I could stand driving "Hey! Lookit Me!" blue all the time. (He said from his vantage point behind the wheel of his "yellow! Yellow! YELLOW!" '18 GT.)

As to the shape of modern Mustangs, I really, really liked the '05 - '09 for its simple, elegant lines. It was just what I thought a Mustang of that generation should look like. The '10s and their ilk were tolerable, but not an improvement; I didn't think the fender lumps added anything worthwhile. The 15s were similar enough I wasn't much interested. Then, in mid-2018 I saw a remarkably powerful-looking coupe overtaking me (in my '14 GT convertible). It put me in mind of the epitome of 1950s road cars, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL "gull-wing" coupe, all hunkered down and ready for any challenge. Lo! and behold: the overtaker was a black 2018 Mustang GT coupe. Marvelous! I was instantly in shopping mode.

I can still feel the exhilaration at that first glimpse, and now I can re-see it any time, in my 2018 GT coupe. Marvelous!

It a matter of taste. Having never seen Grabber Blue before this thread, had you asked me what it looked like sight unseen, I would have said a bright, almost electric blue. Had you shown me Grabber Blue without telling me the name and asked me what color it was, I honestly would have answered "powder puff blue". Function of my age, I guess.

I'm not sure 'Professional' 35 year old me would buy a new car in that color.
I was 50 when I got mine. Age is just a number, if you like the color buy it. I wanted a grabber blue one since they brought it back in 2010, but I wasn't in the position to get one, kids still at home, wife not working, so no money for a toy. I used to like the S-197's better but after I got a 550 I grew to like them. I actually like it more than the 197's now. They have a better interior, far superior suspension and handling, and a more modern styling with just enough of the old school touches to let you know it's a mustang.

The S-197 was designed right in the middle of the retro craze, remember the PT loozer, the Chevy SSR, The plymouth prowler, the chevy HHR? The 197 was a good design but it had it's day.

They may make minor changes to the paint on those colors, but they stay close to the same every year.
Ford is good for doing that, back in 04 they had a color on the F150's called true blue, in 07 it was replaced by dark blue pearl. From a distance they looked the same but the DBP had pearl in it and a touch more violet. The blue metallic on my explorer looks just like the medium wedgewood blue from 04-05 just a little darker. The nitrous blue on the focus RS looks just like grabber blue, until you get close and it's got metal flake in it. They will take an old color, tweak it just a little, give it a new name and put it back out there and wait to see how it's accepted.

Because it's boring, like any other pastel/non-metallic.

It not bad, but, as a matter of taste, it just doesn't "pop" for me. In a large amount though, yeah, darker than powder puff.

I read somewhere that it's difficult to formulate a color that is exactly the same every time, year after year, and that manufacturers get around it by changing their colors every so often. After a few years they can bring a color back and no one will complain if it's a hair different. I don't know how true it is, but it sure sounds like something that would make sense in the corporate world.
I like Smurf blue but I don't think I'd want to see it in my driveway day in and day out, I'd get tired of it.

Still don't regret going Grabber Blue. It's not overwhelming and does look great in person. Lightning Blue just didn't do it for me. Would have liked Kona Blue alternatively.

I don't regret going with Grabber Blue either, best looking color on the S550 in my opinion.. especially with the black accent package. I don't find it "loud" at all, and I get nothing but compliments about the color all the time.

It shows the lines well and yes, the black emblems look great. I went with the Grabber Blue GT on the back for a nice touch. I felt the blue pony on the front was overkill.

Yeah I get compliments about the colour all the time. usually starts with "Grabber Blue right?" And "that's how you got it from the factory?". Cause they remember it from the 69-72 Mustangs.

My S197 was Grabber Blue. I definitely would have ordered it for my 2016 if it was available and I wasn't planning to add stripes.

I have never willingly ordered a car with metallic paint. Often I've ordered an alternative make/model because it had decent non-metallic color choices. Fortunately, Mustang has always been good about offering several non-metallics. There are popular car models with nothing but metallic (or black). SMH

I ask myself this question every day. I love my Grabber Blue, it is definitely "my" color, and I have zero problems being a professional in this car. If I feel I need to be more subdued, I can drive my Infiniti SUV. But I daily the Mustang and I don't care what people have to say - although almost every comment I get is on the color or my exhaust, both of which are positive. I will admit it's a loud color, but so are the yellow, orange and green variations they offer. If they had kept GB I would have purchased a 2018, but they forced my hand into buying a lightly used 2017 instead since I wanted this color.
