You guys have to keep in mind, we're talking about cars that were in a similar price range compared to the competition, but were severely subpar to the competition (like the M3). As has been previously mentioned, you can pick 2 of the following; Cost, Performance/amenities, Reliability. exceeding expectations in all 3 will never happen
I have no issue with some things not being perfect. Body panels misaligned, A/C compressor issues, and even electrical gremlins are acceptable issues, IMO. Engine issues in a car where the engine is basically the biggest selling point are a whole different subject.

Ding, Ding, Ding....you are a winner! My top 3 reasons for owning this car;
1.) Dual fuel for E85
2.) 10r80
3.) Performance Pack w/ Auto

That's a very fair point.

That's a very fair point.
That said, we still have no idea what is going on with the 18s. Some have cylinder wall scoring, others are pushing big power just fine with rattle noises. My fingers are crossed for it just being pump noise that a cal update can correct, but I may be overly optimistic.

+1 just make sure it's a 1LE.

That's what i did last week, just purchased a black 18 1ss 1le and I love it!

what a car this is and I got a heck of a deal on it!, have owned mustang since 18 years old, (39 now) and
have to admit mustangs are in trouble, The Camaro is just a better car, and way more comfortable for me.

seats more comfortable, sit lower, don't have that built in bump in back rest
6-speed trans is tighter, shifts better
car has a lot more torque and just feels faster, feels lighter
better electronics & stereo
and the wheels & tires and brakes on the 1LE are above shelby level
this is the best handling car i have ever driven!

in my opinion this 1LE is on the GT350 level for about 20k less

Have you driven a GT350 for comparison?

The GT350 was built from the ground up to turn fast laps. The 1LE package is nice, but nowhere near the same.

Congratulations on the new car though.

Buy now if it's the car you want. Personally I love my car but it probably will be my last ford. I've had way to many issues so far for only having 22k miles on it in just over 3 years. Rear wheel bearing, valve cover oil leak, mirror cap paint pealing and pony light not working. I can deal with the rattles for the price point and I take full blame for the clutch starting to slip after 25+ launches on slicks at 5k rpm's! I hope I have better luck than I did with my truck but only time will tell.

Time to blast the Mustang now :D
Not blasting anything! My wife's old wrx in 130,000 miles only ever needed tires,brakes,5k mile oil changes and 1 light bulb. That's with me beating the snot out of it every chance I got. I'm just saying ford has a lot of work to do. Sometimes I have to wonder if ford is paying some of the members on here.

When I gave up on a new Mustang V8 I seriously looked at that car. Actually I almost bought a new Z06 in the spring when I had a cancer scare. The thing is I will keep my V6 as it has now surpassed my fox bodied 5.0s in reliably already. So like all old gear heads I will head off into retirement in a Vette.

One quick note about the GT. One of the previous posters noted that with the GT it was all about the engine and he is right. My previous 5.0s were defined by the engine. The 2018s should have had this bullet proof over engineered under stressed engine that would last forever. Like my former 5.0s, the rest of the car disintegrated around the engine over 18 years and 375,000kms. But the engine kept going and performing until I gave it up! Sadly I don't think the same about the new engines or I would be driving one right now.

+1

Definitely a lot of people who can't take any sort of criticism of the car AT ALL.

Spamming the same paragraph from C6G is not really criticism. The Mustang has faults but being spammed PMs telling me I am crazy for saying that I am able to DD a torqueless car is a bit silly.

I agree.

Sorry man, can't see your PM's so unless you make a post like this the rest of us have no idea you're getting them.

"Torqueless Car". That's a good one. I guess my '04 Z06 is truly torqueless as it only came with a measly 405HP. LOL.
