Thats... not an X pipe, thats a H pipe without any length to the little crossover pipe. I'd like to see some testing they did to show that mess is better than no crossover at all.

Plus the valves are much louder than factory when switching between modes and start up.
Also to add, From normal to sport not much difference. Stock when you switch it makes a huge difference the way the exhaust sounds.

That!!!!! Right there is the big one, muffler design. I have not had one person, after hearing the car in person say they did not like the sound. When I drive the R to work my co workers tell me they know when it is me. Not because it is loud but because the different sound. Even more so, they knew right away when I swapped the stock to the ATAK. I like the normal mode with the ATAK and it is the only mode the wife put up with when on a drive lolAre you spinning this as a positive or a negative? I say this is a positive. The ATAK normal mode as you stated, is not much difference from sport, but it does do a great job of toning out all the pops and crackles and carrying on. Great for when you don't want all that. Personally, I don't really know when that would be, but that's just me:cheers:;)
Aside from our agreed upon disdain for the x-pipe, the muffler is well designed and I see nor have experienced any quality issues with the muffler or the rest of the system (x-pipe still excluded obviously).

I commented on this very subject. I had a few other problems with my kit which led to a couple of phone conversations with Borla. Please try, but you will not get a satisfactory resolution to this particular item, nor will you get a better looking xpipe. I inquired and requested the same thing and the conversation pretty much ended where they were more than willing to replace the x-pipe (customer service was top shelf), but we came to the conclusion it would look just like that one. Yours confirms any replacement x-pipe would have been the same. Sorry I wrote the article that I did and didn't include any photos. I did however take the exact same photos and made the exact same comparison (I also had a shifteck x-pipe on hand at the time) and I sent that shit to Borla.
I cannot comment on if it works, hinders performance, or anything like that, but it sure is a tough pill to swallow having something that looks like that for that kind of money. I've had my system on for a while now and the quality of that x-pipe still bugs the living shit out of me every day...to the point I am going to swap mine out. I had my ShifTeck x-pipe modified by local muffler shop so that it'll slip right together. Going to install it this weekend.
Others may not have the mental block I'm having over how that looks, but I can't get past it. Looking back, I don't know that I'd rule out getting the system because of this, but yea, it sucks.
I installed a kit yesterday on a customers car and I showed him the x pipe and he did not care and agreed to get it installed.
30% of the flat crank voodoo sound is gone. It doesn't have the high pitch sound anymore. Is more of a thicker sound. Even the owner was not happy with the product and the sound.
Is this exhaust worth the $2k price tag, absolutely not. Shiftteck and stock exhaust hands down.
Also want to add that this kit no way in hell will add 18whp not from just a catback.

I just got finished with an email string to Dave about some valve sticking issues I had on my ATAK and his level of professionalism, generosity, and general customer service are incredible.
