It should be better regardless, but it's really a $20k car with a $30k engine and $15k wheels. Helps explain it a little more.

Mine was perfect from the factory, but I know many weren't.
Thank you for your feedback. Can you please share how many miles you have on your car now

Eh it's mostly luck of the draw. People talk about "perfect" Japanese cars - that's a joke.

My plan is to buy more Fords. Kinda like the idea of having one of every gen mustang: started with 2017 GT350, next would be 1967 GT350, then fill in the rest - 1977, 1987, 1997, 2007.

Frankly my GT350 example has been very average in terms of ownership headaches to miles ratio ... only negative parts would be the dealer 'uneducation' in terms of the service, oil changes, the splitter fiasco , etc but really not above the 'pay grade' of the average Ford dealership experience. At least with what myself and my family has seen, 30+ Fords running...

I believe I full got what I paid for, but at this pt in the game my next performance car will probably start with the dreaded P...

What’s strange to me is my 16GTPP premium was a really nice car i thought. I didn’t understand everyone’s complaints...until i got the 350. I have the gaps, both front quarters are bent inward by the hood and have been since i got it, i’m in the process of getting a new voodoo, don’t get me started on my splitter ordeal, and now there’s a clunking coming from the passenger rear on accel/decel... some crooked shit peice on the dash i can’t get straight and for some reason i still enjoy driving this thing.

It’s my 5th mustang, i’m a bit of fan lol. But it’s caused me to look towards other brands, just not a porsche(wallet can’t go there!). Many of my issues can be fixed through warranty, but that is where i’ve Learned a lesson...you rely on that and you’ll be without your car, or a sufficient solution to your problem, ALOT.

200 from 60k. The only real issue I have is a upper passenger door rattle that's just very occasional when driving but can be heard when the door is shut. Car has been completely problem free otherwise. I absolutely adore this car and never plan on selling it.

The cars look incredible. There are sometimes some nagging quality issues but we all knew that going in. The OP just wants to move on to a P car and he’s using this to justify the move. He was plenty fine with a less than perfect car up until now.

My car happens to be great except there is a small gap in the rear bumper
Cover but it’s always been there and is t growing.

Should these problems exist? In a perfect world, no. They aren’t really show stoppers. IMO... not as bad as some people make them out to be.

No complaints from me, I love my GT350. I also own a Porsche 911 C2S (997), but I honestly enjoy driving the Shelby more. Guess maybe I'm lucky in that my GT350 has been fairly well put together.

Driving enjoyment is different from the overall quality question. I love driving my GT350 and it is my favorite car I’ve driven/owned, but it’s quality is shit period on a number of fronts.

Quality on mine is fine. That is what I implied when I said "no complaints" and "fairly well put together".

Is the fit and finish as good as Porsche? No, but it's fine. Paint is very nice and I have no issues with panel gaps (other than the rear, which seems to afflict all GT350s). Reliability has been great too (knocks on wood). And I come from not only Porsche, but BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Toyota as well. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm a happy camper.

Interesting... sounds like you and I just had coffee and discussed all my 350 woes. You don’t know me from Adam. It is a fact that Ford’s quality is no longer “Job 1” but “Job Lazy”. You can claim that as my “necessary excuse” but actually last time I checked I live in America and my currency can purchase whatever is available.

I’m no Chevy or Dodge fan and their cars are so so to me. The P car fits my template and it has a certain quality about it that I can appreciate.

I haven’t been “plenty fine up till now”, and I still enjoy driving my R but it’s like owning a boat now... something has to be fixed often now. That’s not fun.

Wow you guys are scaring me. I'm currently driving an AMG GTS, fit and finish is impeccable. While this car is in a different class, I would expect fit and finish of a $70K car to be at least comparable to a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla..but I guess not.

So much for American pride. Ford, their management AND line employees should be ashamed of themselves!
If you've looked at a new Honda Civic, you will change your tune. The exterior panel fit is at least as bad as our Mustangs. I've seen terrible fitment in two occasions just looking casually at them in traffic. I haven't looked closely at a Corolla, so I can't comment on that.

All of this also kinda makes you appreciate how you can look at any new Hyundai, VW, Toyota, Honda, Kia, etc and the fitment is perfect.
Completely untrue.

That's exactly right. The Mustang is an inexpensive car and the GT350 has expensive upgrades on it. I get that some people's highest priority is panel fitment. My highest priorities are engine/drivetrain/handling.

Perfect panel fitment is way down my list and I'm not going to pay more than Mustang money for a car without a decent engine in it. BMW and Porsche are boring and overpriced in my opinion - possibly when you get way over $100k for a Porsche that might be an exciting car, but anything near GT350 price is bland and lack luster IMO. Frankly, any car I've driven that has fewer than 8 cylinders just really doesn't make the cut for me. I don't get how car manufacturers think they can charge so much for so little power and performance. I guess they count on customers who are after prestige or luxury rather than performance.

The main fitment issue on my car is the rear bumper. I do admit that I don't like the way it looks and I wish it were better. However, I'm impressed that Ford is at least trying to fix that for their customers at no charge. I would have expected them to do nothing.

Had new a 16 GT350 and 17 GT350
I have a different take on this. I'm 73 and leased my GT350 for 5 years. Its a last hurrah for me. I have always liked fast cars that stand out also looking fast. I don't race mine. I do feel when your paying out (60,000+ for a car, in my case will be close to 40,000+ and I will give it back in 5 years) that cosmetically it shouldn't easily show and have all the imperfections the GT350 and some other brand vehicles have now a days. Thats a heck of a lot of money to just sit back and say oh well thats how cars are made any more. I have a 2005 Buick Century for my beater car and the panel fitment is all but flawless. Our country needs to get back to quality merchandise being made and the consumer needs to except no less just like it used to be. Vehicles used to go through a quality control check at the end of assembly and if a flaw sent back. Now they just produce them as fast as they can and let the dealerships deal with the flaws under warranty. Thats wrong!

Here, here! America has quickly become the country of apologetics. “Here... let me apologize for your shoddy craftsmanship by taking my brand new $67k car to the paint guys and get it done right!”

Bahumbug!!!
