I like to disassemble things.
...fixing that laundry list on a $67k car just 2 years old is a little much for me.
Get the Porsche! George loves his and had similar feelings about GT350 quality.

The performance was the sell... the quality was an unknown at the time. Add in the mystery with the engines that no one’s magic 8 ball can lock down as the cause and you have a technological marvel in a Pandora’s box... kinda like having Jessica Biel under the sheets but Oprah out in the daylight.
So you're saying you have Jessica in bed with you and you're going to kick her out. :tsk:

Well, my 2013 Boss 302 was not flawless but it was light years above the quality of this GT350R. I love this car but dayum... the quality sucks. My Boss was $45k, my GT350R was $67k.

I look at my car today and so far here’s the list of issues:
1) rear bumper sag,
2) front bumper popping out on left front behind marker light,
3) lugs for factory wheels have popped the caps,
4) left rear seat belt clasp has a broken tab and won’t secure,
5) paper thin paint has nicks up front and in quarters,
6) front left fender vent lifting,
7) rear quarter window rubber lifting.

I’m not gonna jinx myself on the engine...

Told my wife last night that I won’t buy another performance car till I can secure a GT3. Moving on... after 50+ Fords in our family it sucks that it has come to this but Fords issues are not skin deep. My Raptor has been good so far, and every Ford truck I’ve had, save the 2004 F150 with the crap 5.4 triton plug issue, has been awesome.

See ya Ford!
Let me know when you're ready to sell.

Reap, I’m with you.
This is my first and only new Ford (except for my stepping stone track pack GT350). Paint and panel fit is GARBAGE on a $70K car (both of the 350’s I’ve owned). Ford, I hope you are listening. I’ll get an extended warranty only because the driving experience is so engaging, but my next new purchase high performance car will be a Porsche....or mid engine C8 Vette, but C7 quality is shit too. Plenty of people posting pics of front clip/fender paint chips on CF. None of my vettes had satisfactory quality either.

Quality on my daily driver Audi has been superb and I’m about to secure a rediculous deal on a new S3. Can’t wait to pick it up.

EDIT: and the teaser pics of the GT500 do nothing for me. The GT350R, IMHO, is pinnacle of Mustang styling....and “venom kills demons”.....ok. I’d love to see what the GT500 has for the HC Redeye. I’m guessing FOrd will wait another 6 months to release specs due to goimg back to the drawing board to squeak out more power.

GT3 yummy in my best Homer Simpson voice. It’s amazing how bad the fit and finish is on these cars. But I digress.

You're still under warranty for the niggling stuff. Custom paint job, ppf, and a great body shop to permanently fix the others still saves you over 60K. Nothing wrong with it but sounds like you want a Porsche.

Wow you guys are scaring me. I'm currently driving an AMG GTS, fit and finish is impeccable. While this car is in a different class, I would expect fit and finish of a $70K car to be at least comparable to a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla..but I guess not.

So much for American pride. Ford, their management AND line employees should be ashamed of themselves!

That's the thing. Not only is the fit and finish bad for a $60-70k car, it's bad for a $20k car. It's 2018, manufacturing lines should be able to screw together a car properly regardless of its cost, and if not, the quality control should find the issues and have them corrected.

In fairness, I have seen poor panel fitment on Dodges and Chevys too but it seems like Ford is the worst of the 3.

All of this also kinda makes you appreciate how you can look at any new Hyundai, VW, Toyota, Honda, Kia, etc and the fitment is perfect.

Honestly, I’ve seen bad panel fitment around the whole shibang of autos. It’s just a common issue on the S550’s for some reason. As I stated earlier, my Boss was great, but to be upfront, it was a pilot production. That being said, the gaps/panels on my aluminum bodied Raptor are great and the moldings and trim are tip top. I did have a screw cover come aloose on the rear left grab handle but nothing a dab of Krazy Glue didn’t fix.

I’m not thrilled with the idea of taking a $67k car to a paint guy to get the paint fixed and the PPF.

It should be better regardless, but it's really a $20k car with a $30k engine and $15k wheels. Helps explain it a little more.

Mine was perfect from the factory, but I know many weren't.
