If you don't think that the R model was that track focused I suggest that you take a 2015 Z28 and a 2015 GT350R and see which vehicle was more focused at the track and it will be no contest in favor of the R model of course.I didn't think the GT350 was "track-focused" in the way the Z28 and ZL1-1LE are, heck not even the GT350R is that 'focused'/compromised. :shrug:
It was interesting how GM took some of their left over Z06 LS7 engines (427 CI)and can only produce 505 HP compared to the little 315 CI Ford engine that produces 21 more horsepower which obviously equates to much better performance times.
The Z28's zero to 60 and quarter mile times (12.7) were not very impressive but then again it weighed ~3850# and cost ~$76,000 therefore no wonder it was a complete flop even with all of the Camaro enthusiasts out there.
