My first introduction to drag racing was when I was a kid and I was eye balling this top fuel type dragster. The owner came over and instead of yelling at me - he plopped me into the cockpit. I was hooked from that moment on. That guy was a true ambassador of the sport.
Got it. You sat in a race car once.

You haven’t raced if you haven’t part throttle raced yet. V6 should win due to the new intake manifold. Bluebeast would get smoked
Part throttle racing was the EBs claim to fame. The v6 guys cant even claim being good at that.

Geez, we get it, you love your V8. V6 Mustang/Camaro/Challenger is still double the power of what a lot of people are upgrading from. Sure, it would be great to be able to dive right in to a GT, but that isn't always feasible or worth it for everybody.

I upgraded from a Corolla and love my car and definitely did desire the entry level because I didn't quite like the feel of the Eco on my test drive. When I get my next promotion or after all my school loans are paid off, I'll think about upgrading but I don't need that now by any stretch.

I got a V6 because I didn't want to end up in one of those Mustang Fail videos on YouTube. A man has to know his limitations...

Don't feed the trolls. I stopped worrying what people in REAL LIFE think outside of friends and family a long time ago - much less people on the internet. If you are happy with your car, that's all that matters. All this reminds me of the guy who used to live down the street who owned a TT Supra. All he talked about was his dyno numbers. We finally talked him into taking it to the local track and he blew it up...LOL

Exactly. Look, I traded my EB for the GT after three years for a couple of reasons, which I won't get into again. But, it was my choice. I probably could have kept the EB and been just as happy.

This entire thread reminds me of one 3 years ago on TMS when the site was becoming toxic because of a select few people there. Guy kept using the word "settled" ... as anyone that didn't get a GT "settled" and claiming it wasn't really a Mustang without a V8.

Yeah, I was/am a moderator there (since about ~2001/2002) but not enough power to do anything about it. The Mustang has a long history of providing multiple trims, options, and engines. I've driven a Mustang since I was 16 years old and had all sorts of 'em. It's part of why it's so popular. Each car is good at different things. So, anyone laying claim based on boy racer credentials, or insulting someone because of a choice they made is ridiculous.

With that said, as I stated before, I wouldn't trade an EB for a V6. Not because one is better than the other, but it just doesn't make much financial sense. Both are similar performance wise and the fragility of the EB has been overstated, especially for non-modded cars.

Probably time for this thread to get locked by a mod, though we all know this same stupid argument will come up again in a few days.

We all know the fastest car isn't the ecoboost, v6, GT, or even the GT350.

It's this, the good 'ole Delorean... after it reaches 88 mph. Before it reaches 88 mph though... Prius status. This car can say it's the fastest and slowest car at the same time.

LOL:lol: I wasn't the one that said an entry level V6 was as desirable as a GT350! Really? Or was talking about 157MPH speeds. Face it. It gets pretty thick. And as soon as anyone calls it for what it is. Ridiculous! Your picking on the poor little V6 guys. 157MPH is a lot right? More than double any posted speed limit in America. So if 157MPH is good. 200mph would be better. Might as well make it 225mph? Right? Your confusing the word "desire" with what you could afford at the time. Why ever upgrade like you mention above? If you "DESIRE" the entry level V6? Answer. Because at some point in your life. You can afford to. I for instance. DESIRE a Ford GT. But don't have 400K to spend on a car. I settled for a Mustang GT. Because it fit into my budget. See how it works? I know. your feeling picked on to now.

Well I’m not picking on you. Just seeing myself as a younger man and having some fun. At least I hope your younger than 58 which is what I am. Sooner or later you will be organizing competitions and you will become a stellar car racing aficionado. All us old farts were young once and not the most upstanding citizens, me especially, but time has a way of dealing with that.

We all drive entry level cars because we are not driving Bentleys and Rolls Royces.

Yea I'm not really picking on you either. Been racing all my life. Were closer in age then you might think. Here's a photo of the current race car. Nothing special. low 9 second small block nitrous bracket car. It wont even do 157.:D There is always someone faster. And if your real good at the tree. Your V6 has a shot at the money. Now. Back to the OP. Never trade a new EB for a V6. Its silly finacially.

define: a strong feeling of wanting to have something
I didn't say you're picking on me or that my V6 is as desirable as a GT350, that part wasn't me. But yes I did desire my V6 compared to the Corolla. Everything is relative in terms of desire. Do I also desire a GT? Sure, but that doesn't mean I didn't desire my base model car either. Nobody is really picking on anybody so much as shoving ideas around.

At this stage of the thread. Its time for jokes. I desire a super model. But Ive been guilty of doing an ugly fat girl when no one was looking. ;)
