Well my gt is a work vehicle at the moment and is used exclusively for that purpose. During the time of it's work life i like to keep it under warranty and in tip top shape. After it gets retired then i can look at heavy modswhy worry about the warranty
you are missing out on fun times now
Please elaborate, what is flare?use flare to lower power in 1st and 2nd and they will work
I think he’s talking about flight controls, which is what Whipple has. You can program the lower gears to make less power for smoother take offs. I’ve never done it bc I don’t have the module. Previous owner traded it in and didn’t include. Please elaborate, what is flare?
Yeah I was working with the Flare tool and had it on the brain. Flight Control is it.........I think he’s talking about flight controls, which is what Whipple has. What are, "emissions" :shrug:Its like a drug. You get addicted to it.
Whipple Stage 2 is the way to go. Best power out the box. I am in Cali as well I cannot complain having a 701/542 rwhp street car. Bonus is you pass Emissions and get a CARB number lol.
Lmao Technically I'm still on emissions tune from WhippleWhat are, "emissions"
lol
I see, thank you. Does Roush or a third party have something like that? I would love that for my car, too much power on the lower gears.I think he’s talking about flight controls, which is what Whipple has. It can get costly, but most people have plenty of miles before they start seeing problems. Just keep it in the back of your mind that you may want to have some spare money for an emergency. Built 6R80 cost me between $6-7k and a moderately built motor will cost around $9-10k from my research. Depending on how long you plan on keeping your car, you may never need to worry about either of them. If you're planning on keeping the car for several hundred thousand miles like I am, I would plan on it eventually. In any case, it's still worth it ;)So that's one thing that also scares me about being boosted is I'm honestly not mechanically inclined so i would have to rely on my shop for all repairs . Just seems like it could get costly pretty quick. But if there is that much of a difference than i can see it being worth it.
How would a stage 2 whipple pair up with a 285 square set of mpss tires? Too skinny?
Do it. I love my Lund tune with mine. :cheers:love ... LOVE my stage 1.. went from a 16 na to my 17 s/c and well worth the drive .. i drove to ohio from phila to get it ..now i might get a real tune the roush tunes are very conservative
I agree with this. Must always prepare for worst on a car at this hp level. It can get costly, but most people have plenty of miles before they start seeing problems. 285 is decent and MPSS are pretty much the best street tire you can get. You will have to learn throttle control for gears 1-3 after that you can usually let it rip.
I did not know this. Very cool.I think he’s talking about flight controls, which is what Whipple has. You can program the lower gears to make less power for smoother take offs. I’ve never done it bc I don’t have the module. Previous owner traded it in and didn’t include.
