why worry about the warranty
you are missing out on fun times now
Well my gt is a work vehicle at the moment and is used exclusively for that purpose. During the time of it's work life i like to keep it under warranty and in tip top shape. After it gets retired then i can look at heavy mods

I love it! If you're an auto the stock drivetrain is pretty stout besides suspension work. Being boosted is great tho, really fun surprising cars at much higher price points than mine lol. 91 octane does suck but if you keep the boost to 9-10lb you'll be fine

Please elaborate, what is flare?
I think he’s talking about flight controls, which is what Whipple has. You can program the lower gears to make less power for smoother take offs. I’ve never done it bc I don’t have the module. Previous owner traded it in and didn’t include.

Its like a drug. You get addicted to it.

Whipple Stage 2 is the way to go. Best power out the box. I am in Cali as well I cannot complain having a 701/542 rwhp street car. Bonus is you pass Emissions and get a CARB number lol.
What are, "emissions"

lol

I see, thank you. Does Roush or a third party have something like that? I would love that for my car, too much power on the lower gears.

So that's one thing that also scares me about being boosted is I'm honestly not mechanically inclined so i would have to rely on my shop for all repairs . Just seems like it could get costly pretty quick. But if there is that much of a difference than i can see it being worth it.

How would a stage 2 whipple pair up with a 285 square set of mpss tires? Too skinny?
It can get costly, but most people have plenty of miles before they start seeing problems. Just keep it in the back of your mind that you may want to have some spare money for an emergency. Built 6R80 cost me between $6-7k and a moderately built motor will cost around $9-10k from my research. Depending on how long you plan on keeping your car, you may never need to worry about either of them. If you're planning on keeping the car for several hundred thousand miles like I am, I would plan on it eventually. In any case, it's still worth it ;)

285 is decent and MPSS are pretty much the best street tire you can get. You will have to learn throttle control for gears 1-3 after that you can usually let it rip.

I've been running a Whipple Gen 2 Stage 2 Kit for about 5K miles now. It is the first car I have ever had that was boosted and I absolutely love it. I will tell you that I found out almost immediately that Nitto 555 G2s suck for boosted cars lol. I ended up switching to Pilot Sport 4S on all 4 corners and love it!

I agree with this. Must always prepare for worst on a car at this hp level.

I have seriously looked in to the Whipple on my '15 before the Bullitt came out, but might not do the Bullitt and SC instead. I've had 2 sc in the past: Vortech which is a centrifugal and builds boost higher and higher, so comes on more gradually and a roots type (Roush). The roots which is like a Whipple will give almost immediate torque. Fun around town, hard to launch hard. I contacted 4 installers. About the same pricing. 10K for the stage 2, gen3 Whipple. Another 1600 for opg and sprocket installed which only makes sense and another 1500 for half shafts installed. In some ways it makes sense to go this route as a '15 might fetch 26K used and a new Premium GT will be about 40K, so for the same price you get a durable 700rwhp car. Of course, you still have a mushy handling car unless you do suspension as well.
