Its a silly arguement. Manual WILL be slower.

The manual guys can talk fun to drive. Or driving experience. But the best drivers on earth. Have pretty much proven the modern 8-10 speed automatic is 2-3ths faster than a manual. Examples. Evan Smith in the 18 Mustang. Jeff lutz in the 16 Camaro.

Well hold on there Evan’s times don’t count! Only independent testers like edmunds. As you can clearly see the M6 SS ran the same time as the A10 GT so that means there is no advantage!

People just cherry pick whatever helps their argument, rather than logic and facts.

Correct. But Edmunds is now the new bible of performance cars.

Well it is pretty shady what Ford did! We were blinded from the truth! Edmunds finally showed us the true time. Not a time manipulated by tire pressure changes, rental tracks, ringers, secret tunes, weight reduction, hidden NOS, etc

It pretty much breaks down to this. A well equipped 18 GT around 45k will be basically even with a SS in a straight line. NOT faster than a C7 Corvette. Camaro 1LE still the best track car unless the PP2 has features we dont know about.

Ford came a long way, and frankly its about time. Now lets just join up and put a hurt those Dodge 392s. :)

The Dodge boys might have something for both. If they build off the guilia chassis. Or how ever you say and spell it.

They are overdue for some sort of refresh/platform. I havent read up to much on them recently though.

My main points being.. A Vast majority of people will not have these conditions to work with. Only a very small amount of people will be able to run a 18 GT in the 11.8 range. Hence the hero runs.

For a person who goes to buy a A10 18 GT with all the bells and whistles for 45K+ and go the the strip and think hes gonna run a 11.8 is going to be very disappointed. He will be just as disappointed if he goes up again any A8 C7 Corvette.
I don't think you are making any point.

Anyone who understands 1/4 mile racing, knows that the time posted, is for that day, that time. And even 20 minutes later variables can change that make the run different. Everyone knows that You can't directly compare time slips, only garner their information.

Yet, You have some weird ignorant assumption, that a "hero run" is not part of the data set, because it is not objective enough?

Oddly, you are being overly subjective in your posts, offering your perspective because you have some sort of bias in place. Not sure your motive, but you clearly don't know how to handle data sets. Or how to generalize and compare them.
