Is there a new modern car where the Manual is faster in the 1/4 mile than the auto? Sure isnt the case with the Camaros/Mustangs.

Lets not cherry pick magazine times. Some non driving smo from edmunds just piloted a 10 speed auto 18 GT to a 12.6. I could run a better time than that on a 90 degree day in August. But if you listen to some other forums. The new 18gt is a 12.6 car now.

As much as I agree with you... might want to choose a different comparison. The STI is manual trans only.

I wouldn't even use that comparison with a regular WRX as it manual or (shudder...) CVT.
