I would wait. It might work for a manual, but the new 10 speeds have all new shift schedules and the overboost feature.

Doubt it will work with the extra 4 injectors though.

Marvinmadman the new EB has 4 new injectors? I had only heard the GT was getting a fuel upgrade not the EB?

Nah. I just figured I'd cross contaminate the EB section with the 5.0 section like so many others do .

To add a different perspective, The FP changes it from a closed to an open intake so you WILL hear more intake noise and it does turn off the sound symposer in the car so no fake noise. Like said, this turbo has almost no lag at all. There is a little throttle lag but switch to sport mode and it's gone. Is it night and day difference from stock? No but it is a nice little bump in performance eliminating the flat spot on the top end and giving it just enough extra power for the 3500 lb vehicle to feel like a Mustang should. The flat spot around 5,200 -5,500 RPM isn't really noticeable in 1+2 because they go by so quick but lets say you're already in 3rd or in 4th and it has to drop to 3rd when you get heavy on the go pedal, stock the car just falls flat on it's face, has no power to go anywhere so it just hangs there waiting to shift forever in an auto. If you're in a stick, you're shifting early and missing what would normally be good power.
The flat spot around 5k was really my only complaint about the engine after test driving a '17. It really kind of falls flat there. Has anyone heard whether the '18 has improved power delivery in that area?

I had a 15 and now have a 17. There was no flat spot at 5k on either car when stock. Also the power peak is 5500 RPM so the fall off didn't start until then. The FP tune adds a bunch of power (60 to 100hp) above the peak.

Got a bunch a questions:

1. I have added an oil separator, upgraded the intercooler and did a y-pipe exhaust with resonator delete, will Ford do the tune on my car and warrant it or no because of the mods?

2. If I would have to take the car in for general service in the future, can I take it to any dealer or only a dealer who does the tunes?

3. Does the tune cut down on the reliability of the engine and if the engine were to fail would the Ford racing warranty replace the engine?

4. If I don't like the tune what recourse would I have to go back to stock?

Thanks
TC

Here's a link to details on the warranty questions:

https://performanceparts.ford.com/warranty/include/pdf/Select_Parts_Warranty_Statement_2017v2.pdf

Here's the clause of interest:

If an adverse impact is caused by a warranted Ford Performance or mountune performance pack or component, the period and coverage of this Ford Performance Limited Warranty applies to the repairs.

Assuming the installation work is up to snuff, none of the mods you mentioned should affect your factory warranty. If your dealer can prove that something you did during the installation of those mods resulted in damage to the engine you would be on the hook for the repair costs.

The Ford Performance tune includes a software change, and replacing the factory intake. I can't imagine why any dealer service center would turn you away for having these mods installed, but you never know.

According to my local Ford Performance dealer, this means that if an engine component fails during the first 3 years/36K miles (the basic warranty period), AND if that failure is found to be related to the tune, then Ford Performance pays for the repair. I specifically asked about parts failures found to be related to the tune beyond the basic warranty period (the powertrain is warranted to 5 year/60k miles) and was told the factory warranty would cover those repairs. I followed up that phone conversation with an email, because I wanted that answer in writing, but I never received a reply. The consensus here is that the powertrain warranty beyond the basic 3 year/36k is up in the air once you install the Ford Performance tune. Your dealer may or may not honor the remainder of the powertrain warranty after the basic expires. BTW, you do NOT get 3 years/36k from the time you install the tune.

Ford Performance claims to have tested an EcoBoost engine to the equivalent of 60k miles with no adverse effects on engine durability.

I can't answer your question about uninstalling the tune; you should ask your local Ford Performance dealer that question.

Just to be clear the dealer does not make any decisions on whether any repairs are covered under warranty, Ford does.

Ford has to authorize the dealer to do all warranty. Simple things are just a matter of course. But with significant issues Ford will likely request the dealer to do some diagnostics or possible send a field engineer to look at the issue before deciding if warranty repairs will be authorized.

Dealers don't make a lot of money on warranty work so they can be motivated to not want to get involved with something that could result in extra work they won't get paid for but that is not denial of a warranty claim.

Before and After Dynograph

I'm new here and could not read all the pages but I read about 20, is there a real before and after dynosheet? Not the one ford but a real one from a 15-17'

I just picked up the Performance Pack from my dealer and I am waiting a couple more miles to install it. :)

I searched around a bit and didn't see this addressed. I have a 2015 with this tune installed. When I want to sell this car (particularly, if i'm trading into a dealer), do I need to consider uninstalling the tune? Will they see it as an upgrade or should i just not even mention it?

Doesn't really matter. Dealer will certainly not give you more money because of it and you can't resell it. If trading it in i'd flash back to stock tune.

If selling to individual the situation is different.

Thanks. Will they try to give me less if I leave it? Id rather not mess with it if at all possible. But I also don't want them to say "oh, we can't sell it like that, blah blah blah."

Follow-up question:

I traded the car in and did not remove the tune (being honest, i'm not sure I could as my Ford dealer installed it, I didn't do it myself). The dealer I traded the EB to never asked me if i had done any modifications or anything. But I was thinking today about the premium gas requirement. There is a 91+ sticker inside the gas cap, but I'd feel bad if a new buyer just thought that was a suggestion. Should I call the dealer and just tell them it has a tune and to make sure they tell prospective buyers to use premium gas? My wife said she thought the dealer could undo the deal within 30 days. That seems unlikely to me. Any truth to that? Should I just leave well enough alone or call them up and just tell them?

They usually have to ask or they buy as is. Did you remember signing any papers declaring any mods or such?
