That will most likely stand true if Ford does not announce a new kid on the block, the GT500. If it does, interest in the R will drop ... I know mine will.
Point well taken but it all depends as to when Ford announces the release of the GT500 and if it is announced during the Detroit Auto Show in January I certainly agree with your comments.

Having said that I would suggest that the GT350 crowd is a somewhat different crowd than the GT500 crowd based on a couple of reasons.

One reason being the unique and cool FPC engine along and the other being the NA versus FI engines.

Each to their own but personally I will have no interest in the new GT500 no matter how fast it is or how much improved the suspension is.

I really believe the GT350/GT350R's will continue to have a strong following for quite a few years to come.

So, if someone was to look at getting an R, would January be the best time to try to find a left over 17? Would spring be better for new 18 allocations? I have several 17 R's in my area but asking at least 10k over. I would think that not selling the 17's would hurt their future allocations, especially if the GT500 is announced.

I am a previous GT500 owner, and sometimes I miss the brutality of Eleanor (I even named her). It was like living on the edge, I had many close calls with it, but made it out with shinny side up :).

Even tracked it, and it was an animal, a good fun animal though. You had to easily roll on the throttle on that one, you could't bury your foot in it on corner exits.

The 350 is a superior car from the '13 GT500 from many points of view... but a 700 HP good handling independent suspension Shelby ? Sold.

I did not own a 2013 GT500 but had a 2008 and a two 2009's (coupe/convertible) and unfortunately wrote off the 2009 coupe in first gear doing something very stupid.

Having said that I found that those terrible Goodyear tires combined with the very poor suspension set up on my cars did very little for me but I am sure that your 2013 GT500 was far superior to my cars in many ways.

Once I got into the Boss 302 cars and now the GT350/GT350R cars I really have no desire to move over to a new GT500 but understand many such as yourself that will do so.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This. The GT350 is FAR superior in every metric except raw power, and while I am happy with my car, I do have to say that I miss the power a bit. I owned an '09, '11, '13 and a '14 GT500. I think the '11 was my favorite, and I wish I still had it.

I don't see Ford producing a high HP FI Mustang until the S650 hits the streets. I know there are a lot of GT500 owners that want in on the action, but I don't think it will happen. Not enough time between now and the S650 release.

you are correct. Before GT350, I've never considered ANY Mustang. GT500 (with FI and lower rev engine) is definitely a turn off for me, as well as many that came from Porsche, BMW, Miata (yeap, Miata racers in my group bought 5 GT350 in last 3 month).

possibility of GT500 (with discontinuance of GT350) is what made me jump on the GT350R bandwagon.

The problem also is my trade. They are offering me 42-43k for my car. Its 2017 with 13k miles but does have full xpel ($3500), full FP exhaust ($2300), and MGW shifter ($750) - these are costs with labor). Yes I know mods are worth nothing but 42k for 1 year old car? Thats 30% depreciation! I m quite upset to be honest was hoping 50k at least. Not sure what to do.

Maybe I ll just go through another engine and to the point car goes to the shop enough times and I lemon it. Because you guys are saying most people who got the second engine had the same problem with it as far as oil consumption. If the car spends 20 days in shop, thats it for lemon law.
Wow, that trade in offer seems low.

Lowball. F them. Always agree on a cash price and deal with the trade in after the fact. Unless you are strapped on credit and can't float it while in your transition, then I would not just hand over that kind of cash.

I got a 51k trade in on a stock 16 track pack.

When? The blue book price for a private sale on a GT350 dropped from 56 to 49k in the past 3 months. Maybe you got it many moons ago ?

I’m sure many would disagree with me. I just can’t bring myself to pay MSRP on a vehicle, let alone additional dealer mark up. If that means I won’t have the latest and greatest then so be it.

As consumers we should be a smarter group and not allow crap like this to continue and instead direct buisness to those dealers who sell at sticker.

Good luck in your search!

It's selfishness over solidarity on such a low production/high demand car, remember there's a"suggested" in MSRP but i hear ya!

My local stealer in Ft. Myers had a 20k "Market Adjustment" on 1 at the end of June. It was gone in July but I don't know what it went for. I have a photo of the sticker but I can't post since I don't have a host.

No kidding?
I sold my '16 Track Pack private sale with 2200 miles 5 months ago for $54K. My trade in offer at he time was $49K. Sounds like I got out of my base model at the right time then.

The dealer i bought my R from had it for 30k over. They will negotiate with a person willing to buy but getting one at sticker is like being a 5 and having a girlfriend that is a solid 10. Sure it happens but it’s extremely rare.
