You have Daddy's credit card in your wallet, so go for it. Insurance alone is going to be what, $400 a month?
My parents will help pay for the car. I'm not gonna pay for that alone!
At least you have the balls to admit it. Every situation is different. For the average person, buying an S550 GT in high school is unbelievably stupid. But like if Mark Zuckerberg wants to buy his 16 year old kid a Lamborghini Aventador, who really cares? He has unbelievably deep pockets. Him paying $5000 a month for insurance for an Aventador would be like your Dad paying your insurance for .10 cents in a S550 GT. It's all relative.

With that being said, when you are playing with house money, you might as well go all in. If you lose, who cares?

Not going away to college? I hope you have enough money set aside for the lube you're gonna need when you go to buy insurance.

I remember, being a kid and living in Dearborn, right outside the gates of the Ford engineering complex. Seeing the GTs, SVOs, T-Bird TCs, and wishing I could afford one.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm green with envy at kids who get sweet vehicles.

But I see you have a Shelby, that will be ultra high mileage at 20k haha
I'm doing about 8,000 a year with a winter storage caveat. A lot of those come from to and from motorsport events so it's getting a workout.

Jokes aside, that does seem a little high for a used 2015. A few months ago there was a 2017 gt premium convertible for around$ 33k in my area.

But I haven't even looked at prices and I don't know what others are going for

I see that the one you are looking at is CPO.

That is definitely the way to go.

Lots of benefits and peace of mind.

Insurance is $159 a month on the 2015 GT for full coverage and uninsured motorist coverage as well. I've never had a ticket or accident (knock on wood) so my rates aren't that bad for my age.

I have a feeling your offer from Carmax will be so puny you'll look at other options. I was ready to get rid of my primo condition '06 BMW 330i, so I took it to Carmax just for fun. They offered me $3000. I ended up selling it to a friend for $6400, which was still a great bargain for him.
If it's not the sort of car they want to put on their lots (which yours isn't), they'll offer you no more than 2/3 of auction value, minus any needed repairs.

Nope. My mom called our insurance agent and asked for a quote on a 2015 Charger R/T and a 2015 Mustang 5.0 manual and the mustang is $42 per month more than the BMW and the charger is $8 more than the mustang.

I sold my first car to CarMax. It was a 2007 Acura TL with 98,500 miles. Car sometimes wouldn't go into reverse and had been in a prior accident. Passed the carmax "inspection" with flying colors and they gave me $7,000 for it. Car also had a cold air intake and exhaust on it too. Wouldn't say that's too bad.

That sounds normal, he's probably adding the car to a policy with multiple vehicles on it already...$159 isn't cheap either I'm paying a little over $200 for a 2015 GT and a 2016 Fx4

Correct. There's 4 other vehicles besides the mustang with the same policy.
