I'm a brand new GT owner, but I also agree that the GT isn't worth 50k-60k. In the low 30k range, it is awesome and seems just about right. But noticing all the clanks and clunks in this thing really reminds you that 1. it's still a ford, and 2. it's a blue collar working man's sports car :)

If we start moving up to corvette/porsche price ranges, I would expect a white collar sports car, which the Mustang GT certainly is not.

Honda Civics can also go up to $33k and Ford Focuses can go up to $40k. Those are on platforms where the MSRP begins with a "1." Upper $50k for a Mustang GT isn't out of the realm of today's "normal pricing" trends.

1. Any Porsche that can out-perform a 5.0 GT is going to cost well in excess of $100K.
2. Corvette is hardly known as a "trouble free" platform. In fact, one of the main complaints I have seen, in the various car mag long term tests, is "creaks and rattles"......:frusty:
A $50K Mustang is the highest spec MSRP and while I agree that it is too much for a Mustang, Ford is simply following the current trend across the industry.

I spent 47k on my loaded 17. What justifies a 13k price hike?

Cayman S. $64,000.
Cayman S starts at $67k for a bare bones manual. Just like the Mustang, this price rapidly increases as options are added. My friend has one. The GT will out accelerate it with a manual and the performance around the curves is still questionable. Base price for the auto (faster than GT) version starts at $70k. The price for a decently loaded version is around $90k.

Bang for the buck versus highway robbery.
Not exactly robbery when you have to go to them to give them money.

From Porsche website "Cayman S starting at $67,700".......good luck finding one on a lot with zero options. Porsche option pricing is notorious. ANY options and you're well into the $80K range..........you have your opinion, I have mine, let's agree to disagree..........

If I were to buy a 2018 Mustang GT, my requirements would be just Performance Package and MagneRide.

The cheapest I could get it is $43,685 for cloth seats. $45,685 for leather. $47,280 for Recaro.

That's still a lot more than $42,000 I paid for my 2015 GT Premium with PP and Recaro.

I still wouldn't trade my GT350 for a 2018. ;)

Get more, pay more!

Geez what a bunch of whiners! Did you expect the price to go down after a major refresh?

If you can't afford the newer better mustang, or don't think the value is there, get some other car.
Is this a millennial thing? Constant complaining!

This a million times.

I've driven in plenty of cars ranging from 50k and up...the craftsmanship and quality is not even remotely the same.
