How different is the tune for a return system? How much did you guys pay for a retune? Lund wants $400 and that seems kinda steep to me for not a huge change.

Lund charged me $200 for the return system. $50 for a new gas tune and $150 for the E85 tune.

Lund is your current tuner? I just paid $200 a few weeks ago as well, same as above. Still trying to get the E85 tune lined out if you haven't read.

Yes still with Lund. I was surprised to say the least that they want $400.

Maybe he wants more money after having to deal with mine, haha. $400 is a bit high.

That's definitely a new price for the switch. Could be due to the number of people making the switch or Lund tracking how much time it's been taking to tune them.

They are a business and at the end of the day they need to make money. Could be that they just can't economically tune them for $200.... or you could be getting ripped off lol

They spent a lot of time on mine as well, lots of revisions and requests and logs and questions. At $200 I felt like I got more than my money's worth

When you already spent $500 on tuning 8 months ago, another $400 is a joke. Makes me want to switch.

Wouldn't that $50 charge be included in the $200 charge for the return system tune?

edit: misunderstood lol

Pretty sure that's what he's saying. $50 of the $200 was for pump, and $150 was for E85.

Anybody know if Ken at PBD has fixed his issues getting tunes and revisions out? If they're gonna charge me $400 I'm going to look for a new tuner.

You are correct in your interpretation of what I was saying. 50 of the 200 was pump 150 of the 200 was E85.

It might be worth talking to Lund again and ask them why the price jumped or if you can get the $200 price that everyone else on this forum has gotten. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I did...we'll see what they say. I had previously been working with Jon II and Jon Jr. on my tunes, and today I got a response from someone else. If they require another entire remote tuning session just to switch to a return system, that's crazy. No other tuner charges that much.

(Q)How different is the tune for a return system?
(A)See attached image in order to understand what all is changed. Most injector companies like ID and DW supply this data so it's as easy and copy and paste then log to confirm things are okay

(Q) How much did you guys pay for a retune?

(A) Zero dollars and zero cents

(Q)Lund wants $400 and that seems kinda steep to me for not a huge change.
(A)Not sure what to tell ya on this one...sounds like you either pay them $400 or find another tuner...those are really your only options...

Since pressure is inferred, some of those are redundant and just 1s for flow rate multipliers takes care of it. That's info from the injector manufacture for use in fords with a return style fuel system.

The thing is when you switch to a regulator based on vacuum pressure you need to know the "base fuel pressure". This is the fuel pressure minus the vacuum pressure which is inferred on a MAF car. If you could give your tuner an actual MAP value with a gauge it will make it go quicker. So it can take a revision or two to get it right, as long as there's not mechanical issues.

400$ seems like a lot, but making sure your car is getting the proper fuel is the most important thing in any tune. A fuel system change takes careful monitoring to make sure nothing goes wrong. Totally worth it, if you don't have the skills to do it yourself.

Changed mine to a return system from the stock system with BAP ...My tune was still right on the money .. Sai Li put it on the dyno and checked it and it needed nothing ..

That tends to the the case many times, if it ran good before it will run good after you go return style.
