I want to deprogram my rear speakers' EQ

So to get back the question change eq on rear deck speakers on 9 speaker system.

The answer is NO

Problem the ACM output is 4 channel front/back left/right. The bass roll with volume is programmed here its at the 727-01-02 so only choices are an EQ from a different factory speaker setups

Only the DSP sees the speaker configuration at 783-01-01 and 783-02-01 and looks like three choices 9 / 12 / convertible

Now if tell DSP your 12 when your 9 might get full range rear deck or might loose more bass. Somebody is playing with this I hope get a report

My guess turn off active noise and that will allow more bass because it thinks lots of bass is NVH problem. Then try some EQ from different speaker setups to see if you like them better.

The only way to do this is better speakers then OEMRADIO reprograms the ACM for those speakers. May require sending the ACM to him because the changes can't be made through MS-CAN

Good luck with that. That guy rage quit the internet back in Feb after stalling with me on an upgrade to my base infotainment for months.

I'm not convinced that anything he's done has been anything other than simple as-built mods. He was just keeping the info to himself before the rest of us figured it out and made it public knowledge.

At least he knew what to change though, we still don't seem to know exactly how to defeat the roll off and factory EQ.

I'm going to be using a Helix DSP Pro which lets you configure which speakers get which input. It sounds like the bass rolloff is only on the rear speakers? So I will try using the front signals for the rear speakers also. It's only a two channel system so I don't see what would be different about the rear signals other than the rolloff. I'll sum the to fronts for the sub also.

Not for awhile out but I'll let you guys know how it works out for me.

And the 12 speaker rear is NOT reduced bass, 100Hz is slightly above system noise, 120Hz is clearly visible...

I think this "rear = bass" poop started from people setting the fader to Front vs "0" or Rear and comparing.
On full Front the Sub is gone.

Can you do that test on a front speaker to see if there's any EQ on the front??

I can vouch that the 400a (9 speaker) has wimpy rear shelf speakers, and so I think Ford rolled out the bass to protect them. Another 401a owner sent me a photo of his rear speakers, and they have decent magnets, implying they have more power and excursion capability. Hence, I don't think Ford rolls off the bass to 401a rear shelf.

I have been wondering if I could repurpose the rear speaker wires as line-level interconnects, patch them into the harness before the front amp, and then add a 2-channel amp in the trunk. This would work if 1) they don't pick up too much noise and 2) the bass rolloff occurs in the Ford amp, and not the ACM.

Failing that, then yes, piggy-backing off the front lower speakers would be another viable band-aid.

I have no intentions to throw aftermarket audio equipment at my problem until I get first get bass signal from the rear.

Similar EQ on the Mid/Tweeters ~100Hz to 16KHz and the signal disappears.

Now, not knowing what slope the ACM uses, it could be -6db 125Hz from a 500Hz floor.
Either way, the MIDS "see" 100Hz...

This is after the amp though correct? Out of the ACM directly hopefully there is not much processing

Actually, I kind of doubt that. Somebody with an oscilloscope tested one of his programmed ACM's in an Escape and found bass boost at low volume and bass rolloff at high volume still present.

Unfortunately, my buddy traded his 2015 base GT for a GTI. A 2015 car would allow me to patch my analyzer into the 1/8 analog audio jack in the armrest. Then I could do a proper voltage-vs-frequency sweep.

Then I could provide answers instead of questions.

So can you test 9 speaker ? If looks the same that will help.

Question on the graph ...that was a one volume level, any difference in low mid high. ?
