Idk, it's kinda showing off. I mean people who take trains can't really afford a car. It's like saying you poor people, you will never afford a Mustang so this is as close as you will ever be to riding in one.
Or they live in the suburbs and commute to the city for work where there is generally no parking or outrageous costs to park.

Several of my friends own cars and commute on the train to and from work.

This is not true whatsoever. Millions of people take the train daily that could easily afford a Mustang. Look at NYC. Morning work commutes are made via the subway because it is faster and cheaper. You don't think these folks make enough to afford a Mustang?

I think it is great advertising on Ford's part. That one guy sitting next to the screaming kids on the train sees this and goes straight to the dealer. Next morning, he's driving his Mustang to work.

I guess they want people to order, but I really don't see the point in promoting the car everywhere right now (free ice cream, trains, etc) if nobody can actually see one at a dealer or buy one until November.

Been to NYC once. Hated it. Prefer my Midwest life.

I have never seen such negativity on an enthusiasts car forum!

Look at that train....doesn't look like a subway in the slums.

Notice the name above it? Berkeley is hardly low rent.

It's called advertising folks. Generating excitement for a new product coming soon.

Must suck walking around being disappointed in everything.

I would hate NYC too haha

To just say people that ride the train can't afford cars is false. If you are ever in the suburbs of Chicago you will notice plenty of nice vehicles in the parking lots at train stations.

There is tons of negativity on this forum all of a sudden. It's getting exhausting.

seems like a waste of money to market to nyc commuters who probably don't even know how to drive. instead spend that marketing money on the suburbs across the U.S.

like duh

well i never clicked on the link how am I supposed to know where berkley is? for all i know it could be name of some station or line. I dunno never been to nyc or san fran and never want too so I ain't gotta worry about it.

either way money could be better spent not on a train but out where actual drivers will see it...but ford's got plenty of it.

Is it just me or does it not say Ford or Mustang anywhere on the ad? People may very well not know what kind of car it is at that angle. What's the point of advertising unless your logo is somewhere on there? Maybe I'm just missing it and it says it somewhere.
