To Supercharge or not Supercharge?!

I know this topic is personal preference, but I'd like to get some feedback on personal experience from some members.

I'm debating on supercharging my 2017 Mustang GT, if I don't SC, I'm going to upgrade with CobraJet manifold and either Lund tune or Livernois tune, I'll upgrade half shafts and drivetrain with either option I go.

Just looking for some feedback and or convincing to go one way or the other, any feedback/information is greatly appreciated.

If you have 10k floating around and plan to keep the car long enough to make it worth it, then sure. If you plan to get rid of the car in 2-3 years, it's basically money down the drain.

Only If:

1. If you plan on keeping her long term.
2. You won't regret losing money if you trade her in or sell her.
3. Have extra cash to rebuilt or buy a short block when things go wrong.
4. Don't have to put two kids thru college.
5. Have plenty of money for retirement.
6. Have a life insurance policy in case you kick the bucket.
7. Don't have a mistresses to support.
8. Don't owe any loan sharks money.
9. Don't have a drug or alcohol addiction.
10. You need to built a super fast getaway car.

Do it. I would also say that unless you're going to put on stickies and dig race, I wouldn't worry about the the shafts.

Oooor, unless you're going to put a lot of boost in it.

Two words...hell yes...just did the vmp kit...totally insane power but drive stock until you ask it not too...also, i'm on the stock clutch and half shafts...if you drive on the street that stuff won't break...if you track the car i'd upgrade it. Don't forget to get OPG and CG if you go with the blower...check out link below to see my build.

I'll put in a bit of reasoning behind it (I do not have mine supercharged as of now and probably will not for a few years). Things to consider:

1. Your's is a 2017. You had the car for about a year and a half at most (don't know when the 17s rolled out)? Why rush into it? Enjoy the car in stock power form. Upgrade the suspension progressively. In my personal opinion, having a car that handles well is way more fun than a car that goes fast in a straight line. Which brings me to the next thing...

2. Are you gonna be dragging the car or tracking it? If you drag race it often, go for it! If you track it then a supercharger will also help. If you only autox it, I don't think it would be worth it because you will not use the power even on an autox course.

3. You want a highway cruiser that can also pull? I would probably do just a mild supercharge (like a Procharger). I autox my car so I may go down that route because I also daily this thing and it might be fun to be able to quickly accelerate on the highway for some fun... but I would not risk my powertrain warranty just for that. That's why I am waiting for it to run out to determine my direction with the car.

At the end of the line, your call and whatever you want to do. Just food for thought.

Most of this list covers why I DON'T have forced induction..lol. I haven't even been able to convince myself to get a ford power pack..

Very valid points, I did trade in my 2015 for the 2017, I've had a good amount of time driving the '15.

Power packs until Ford gets their ass in gear with the 2018 specs (10 speed and magride are 2 options id really like if the specs and prices are right) and the GT500 release!!

Edit. I realize you said you plan on keeping it but my point was aimed at not chucking a warranty out the window.

YES, go take a ride or two in one that has one installed. For me personally, I know I'm keeping the car for many years to come, and since I never had a supercharged car, I wanted to feel what I've been missing. I can say without a doubt I'm more than happy with my decision to get one. I have never regretted it for half a second. SH*T LOADS of power and smooth as stock.
