Anyone have a ballpark as to what the labor cost is to install the FORD PERFORMANCE TRANSMISSION COOLER KIT? Can't get more than two laps at COTA without hitting limp:frusty:

Looking for a reputable shop reco here or near Dallas. Thank!

Well... to install the complete kit requires a track/R internal pump transmission, so thousands. Or, you can piece together a kit yourself using your tech/base transmission and an external pump, and expect to pay $300-$700 on parts depending which ones you choose, probably a few hundred for install.

Those numbers seem really low to me, especially the labor part of them. Can you list the shop name that did the install for a few hundred?

I installed the Ford cooler kit except used an electric pump. Rough costs are as follows:
FP cooler with lines and brackets =$550
Electric pump = 150 - 275 depending on pump
Fittings and hoses = 300

I installed myself but figure the labor costs below

Labor in hours (assembly, re-assembly, custom pump bracket so as not to drill holes, wiring) = 10 hours. Most shops charge about $100/hour in my area so figure $1000 in labor.

It works great. Ran almost 40 minutes (two back to back 20 minute sessions) and trans temp didn't exceed 195. Ambient temp was about 85.

Thanks! This is awesome! I figured it would be around that cost and it's a relatively small price to pay to get full sessions. Not bothering with the diff cooler ($2800 for parts alone)

Sorry, installing mine myself. I just figured if you already had all the correct parts, especially the Ford cooler with brackets, install is really straight forward. If you shop around, you can find really great prices. For example I bought 20ft of braided stainless steel hose for $37.85 including shipping/tax. You can find coolers that are even beefier than the Ford one for under $100, the problem then is creating brackets, I don't want to do that, so I bought just the Ford cooler and brackets for $250+$25 respectively. The duct was $60. And I plan to install a very quiet pump as I don't want to hear it, so expect a few hundred there, haven't bought that yet. So for parts I am at $375 + AN fittings + pump.

It felt great. I will do the diff cooler in the future but for now I replace fluids after each event.

What was nice using the FP cooler and lines is from the union of engine and trans forward the install is the track pack install. I had them braze AN fittings to the factory had lines. Everything dropped into place and used the hardware from the kit.

TDC just wanted to confirm the brazed adapters were done on the ford supplied cooler correct ? I am not starting to do my cooler project before the fall due to to many other things going on right now.im assuming that's were you adapted and you didn't use the supplied hoses with the kit.
