Those numbers seem really low to me, especially the labor part of them. Can you list the shop name that did the install for a few hundred?Well... to install the complete kit requires a track/R internal pump transmission, so thousands. Or, you can piece together a kit yourself using your tech/base transmission and an external pump, and expect to pay $300-$700 on parts depending which ones you choose, probably a few hundred for install.
I installed the Ford cooler kit except used an electric pump. Rough costs are as follows:
FP cooler with lines and brackets =$550
Electric pump = 150 - 275 depending on pump
Fittings and hoses = 300
I installed myself but figure the labor costs below
Labor in hours (assembly, re-assembly, custom pump bracket so as not to drill holes, wiring) = 10 hours. Most shops charge about $100/hour in my area so figure $1000 in labor.
It works great. Ran almost 40 minutes (two back to back 20 minute sessions) and trans temp didn't exceed 195. Ambient temp was about 85.
