What I would worry about here is the hardware differences. The IPC controls the speedo and tach as well, right? Those are physically different on the GT350's. Who knows if they would continue working just fine, or if they would suddenly read way off.

Also, do any or all GT350's come with MyColor?
Yup I agree, there is a risk involved. Could it be reverted back? I dunno. Hopefully someone with IDS experience can chime in.

I know some of the Russian guys tried flashing firmware with the obdlink, but the transfer rate was very slow and it failed more times than not.

Is there a way to check the firmware version with Forscan? We could compare the GT350 vs the Premium and the base. If there are 3 different firmware, then a good chance you could activate the Mycolor via as built if a 350 firmware flash is successful.

Need someone with access to IDS to try and flash the IPC with the GT350 firmware. Not sure if it would work, but I have a feeling it would. I base this theory on the fact that the early release Focus ST did NOT have the ST animation on the IPC nor the quad screen option. I asked the Ford dealer to flash the most current firmware and voila those options appeared.
Can this be done with the Mongoose Pro with the ford mudule programming and thet J2534 pass thru?

If the transfer rate is sufficient, then likely yes. I have never used that device though, so I am not sure how fast it is.

Not sure if this was posted or not but anyhow here goes. Credit to DanMC85 on Fusions forums...

Activates the Lock menu in IPC..

720-01-01 xxxx 5xxx xxxx

726-15-02 0101 0101 0149

I haven't got a chance to try out all of them, but it there are more options avail in that submenu now.

Tried finding a temp gauge in IPC with no luck. Managed to remove the compass but couldn't get a value to work that showed outside temp. Laptop died and had to stop.

Here you go boys... let me know. This one was fun to figure out. I was previously restricted to low beams only and any other change would give an invalid configuration error in FORScan. Well this changes that...

Allow All Alternate DRL Options (Restrictions Removed - No Invalid Configuration Errors):

BdyCM (As-Built Modifications)

Allow All DRL Choices:
726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx

Enabled DRL Selection:
726-50-01: XXxx

XX:

01 = Disabled / Parking Lights Only (See change below)
02 = Low Beams
04 = Front Fog Lamps
08 = Front Turn Lamps
10 = Dedicated DRL Lights (LED Light Bars/Strips) - Enables BCM DRL Outputs - C2280F Pins 36 (Right) and 40 (Left)
20 = High Beams
40 = Low Beams and Dedicated DRL Lights

Optional: Enable DRL Parking Lights:
Can be combined with other DRL options above
726-26-02: x1xx xxxx xxxx

Optional: Disable DRL Switchback w/Turn Signal:
726-26-02: xxx0 xxxx xxxx

On/Off for these is controlled from the Instrument Cluster DRL Control.

I know many of you change wiring and such to accomplish some of these which can be now changed in seconds... so enjoy!

I see someone copied this part into this page already to enable IPC control from the interwebs, but original source for reference: http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573&pid=85446#pid85446
So, just for reference on this... If I want my ambers, tails, and fins to come on as DRLs I would configure:
726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx
726-50-01: 01xx
726-26-02: x1xx xxxx xxxx

No, this will give you fins + parking lights as DRLs (this is the setting that I have on my car). If you want ambers (turn lights) + fins you should use the following two (skip the third one):

726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx
726-50-01: 08xx

Unless in the US parking lights are amber...

Did you disable the compass in the ipc? If so what were the values you used?

Yes, in US they have amber parking lights to match the amber blinkers that stays always on with parking lights.

In that case TexasRebel you are correct, it should work fine. I forgot that in the US parking lights are amber.

I had the MGP before I sold it... it only can read HS-CAN... so it will not see the IPC Module.

Secondly, IDS and FMP will not let you flash the "wrong" firmware to a module. It will only let you flash an update if ford officially made one available for that part number of the module.
