2 things I do that I found help the squealing issue:
1. With compressed air, blow out the cross holes and the slots on the periphery of the rotor. Be careful, this can get real messy, there is a lot of dust held in the rotors.
2. As the rotors wear you will get a high ridge towards the outside of the rotor. At about 11,000 miles I removed the rotors and ground that ridge flush to the disk face, this seemed to help a lot. The lesser pressure from the side of the pad on that ridge will contribute to the squealing.
I have found that both of these actions do reduce the noise, but these brakes will refuse to be quiet.
After 5 track days last year and almost 14,000 miles, my brake pads are about 50% worn, according to the gap with the wear indicator. About 50% of my DD is highway miles.

Try powerwashing them at the car wash. It will flush out a lot of brake dust which is what you are hearing.

So I haven't done much other than run a few errands, but someone mentioned to just get them hot and that's pretty much what I did. Didn't hear any squealing after using the brakes way more than I usually would. I rarely used the brakes.

Gonna go out a bit later and try some more suggestions. So weird, lol.

They work best when hot don't need to melt anything just get them up to operating temps through some normal spirited driving> You should be driving your Shelby that way anyways LOL.

Also environment temps and also dust and moisture all play a roll in how much noise they make. The hotter and dusty environment's tend to be the worst along with cooler weather and cold brakes.

Lmao. Officer I was just heating up the pads! :D :headbang:

Yeah I'll definitely be using them much more now that I feel like this is working for me, lol.

I've dealt with this issue time and time again on other vehicles. My GT350 currently does squeal and I plan on rectifying the issue when I switch over to the R calipers.

The simple solution is removing the pads and hardware from the calipers, cleaning them thoroughly, then when reinstalling, any part that makes contact with metal needs a thin layer of hi-temp bearing grease. Back of the pads, retaining clips on top etc. I've done this probably 10+ times to various vehicles and all my squealing problems vanished, never to return.

Just make sure that people understand that you don't mean the face of the pads. Copper grease on the back of the pads is common and helps stop squealing.

1) do same procedure as bedding in new pads with the existing stock pads.
2) run carbon racing pads for a couple of days while doing daily driving. This will help remove pad deposits. Swap back to stock pads.
3) you can have a shop CAREFULLY "sand" rotor surface..can't be do much though or will take off valuable rotor surface
4) the backing plate gel helps a bit but is probably only temporary, really getting rid of the squeal entails reducing pad deposits on the rotors.

Some dealers/mechanics will say the rotors are "warped". This cannot happen with such durable, high quality rotors..it is due to some pad deposits, the rotors are fine.

LOL. Yes, the face of the pads would be a very bad idea.

Mine has never squealed. In the past I've had some pretty aggressive pads. Some with minimum operating temp of over 200 degrees F.

I agree with everyone keep clean and use copper grease.

But I also changed my braking style. Under light braking instead of slowly adding pressure 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 lbs and hold (i don't know the actual lbs, just estimate). I go straight to 5-7lbs then back off to 5lbs. More of an on/off switch. It's not enough to jerk the car or upset the chassis balance during light braking. Just fast and hard enough for pad to contact the rotor with authority. I think it helps push the dust out from under the pad and warms it. Minimum operating temp for stock pads should be around 32-70F. Which just means under perfect situation it shouldn't squeak above 70 but in reality more like 100 to guarantee. If ambient temp is 60, smartly applying brakes will warm to 100F almost instantly. Best performance is probably around 400-500F and max 1,000F. Sorry for rambling.

Believe me, I feel your pain! I started a similar thread a few months ago on the same issue. Like you I had new pads and rotors installed but did not have success until my Ford service tech used a product called Sta-Lube SL3303 Brake Caliper Synthetic Grease. Placed an order through Amazon and keep it on hand for future applications. So far, so good! Most likely, will re-apply semi-annually to be on the safe side. Good luck!

I have 750 miles on my GT350 and the brakes are squealing. Now being the former owner of a brake company I do realize that high-end performance brakes will have a tenancy to squeal, so it wasn't a huge issue for me.

However, I had a for more serious issue come up that I had to take the car in for (The steering wheel actually loose!), I had them check the brakes noise at the same time. This was on 4/26/2017. The showed me a bulletin from Ford saying that the brake squeal can be expected and isn't a warranty issue. Not sure if this is recent change or not, but I'm not sure I'd expect them to continue to change pads and rotors for noise.

What about some of that good old brake parts cleaner all over the rotors , calipers and pads, is that a bad idea ?

I love brake parts cleaner. It will be messy though.
