Just had to abandon my 2016 GTPP with 5k miles on the side of the road. I was starting out in first gear and I got on it a little, next thing I know it sounded like a chain snapped and I lost engine power. No leaks that I could see but my coolant was extremely low. Oil levels seemed high but I couldn't see any oil on the side you put it in. It also smelled. I tried to start the car again but it won't turn over. Engine wrench on and it says see owners manual.

I just changed the oil and catch can < 200 Miles ago, it's been fine, no warnings. Coolant was fine. My driveway shows no signs of a leak.

I've always had a clicking issue, like the BBQ tick. Did I throw a rod???

When trying to start the engine won't turn and the car loses power entirely, and then it reboots itself so the speak.

Pull the cam covers off and try to rotate the crank and see if the cams turn, sounds like you may have broken the timing gear sprocket. If you blew a rod it should have windowed the block.

Well, good news is that next you're due for a GT350.
Would love one but my insurance premiums went to $1,300/6 months. I have 10 "insurance points" for totaling my v6 in August and a fender bender 2 years ago. Sucks

This is sounding more and more like a blown head gasket. All of my coolant ended up in the motor oil. When I drained my catch can a couple of weeks ago the oil was nasty. It looked like it had streaks of chocolate in it if that makes sense. I thought it was just exhaust/burned fuel.

I'm towing the car to the dealership today. I really need to know what I should do next;

At the very least I want a new motor. I will not accept them rebuilding the existing.
At the very best I want to lemon law this car and get a brand new one. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I meet the requirements. Should I try anyway?
Regardless of the outcome I want a full extended warranty on the motor.

I'm not happy that this car will now have a rebuilt/new motor. The resell value is going to take a dump, no one will want it. I also hear horror stories about cars never being the same after getting a new motor. I'm worried, this sucks.

Man that sucks. So many low mileage newer Stangs are breaking down. I mean what else is new right LOL. Regardless let us know what the dealer says. Hopefully its something not too big.

Well if you need a new Engine I assure you that it will take longer than 30 days and after 30 days your car is considered a lemon so you can do the lemon route but will have to wait.

OHC engines don't have pushrods.

If you'd thrown a rod there'd be a hole in the block and oil all over the ground

So is blown head gasket still the best guess?

-No leaks
-Engine won't crank
-Coolant is nearly gone
-Oil level is high, oil looks pretty dark/dirty for being 300 miles old
-Can't see any oil on the timing chains, when I changed the oil those were covered

I didn't remove my catch can before taking it in today.
