Engine Heat?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and the Mustang community. I recently purchased a CPO '15 GT with 10,000 miles on it. Everything is running well thus far, but I did have a concern about heat in the engine. There looks to be damage to the liner under the hood just above where the oil separator would go. I can't see any signs of leaks, and I think this may just be due to engine heat. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

That's the hell of buying something used or abused,you never know how it was treated before you got it,sounds like the car had an engine fire before you bought it,if it was engine heat the whole thing would show damage,my GT is 5 years old and engine hood mat looks brand new.

What sort of damage? Loose fiber or really gouged out? Some people remove the liners to show the hiding pony, might have had an issue of it catching on something they removed or reinstalled it.
