Rev9 Intercooler?

None of the naysayers have posted any proof that this intercooler is garbage or inferior to Mishimoto, CP-E, or MAP sock location intercoolers. It's literally nothing more than 'Don't trust Chinese stuff!'
There are a couple forum posters here with this intercooler posting saying it works great and the quality is good. There are other threads with people who use the Rev9 race style intercoolers with a good amount of success. By success, I mean charge temps are kept low enough for the car to not pull timing.

I have posted pictures of the intercooler in the hope that those more informed than I would be able to point to flaws or inadequacies. No such posts have been made. At some point when I have the ability to monitor CAT's, I will revisit this thread and post the results of WOT pulls in 3rd and 4th gear. But that will be awhile.

Im sure this IC is not garbage, now the stock intercooler- that is garbage!

I bought the Chinese knock off of the ATP modular downpipe, so I am not dissing the low cost parts at all! (Beautiful piece BTW)

The only concern I would have is what is the accountability of the seller? I bought a CPE IC from Ron, if it leaked I could have PM'd him, and told him I had issues with it, and he would have addressed the problem. Not so sure how your rev9 seller would have been. But this is the risk you take when you try and save some cash.

Still I would have PM'd the US guys first and asked what's the best deal they would sell me an IC for: MAP, CPE, ETS etc. They all want to sell their parts, so if you are looking to buy, I'm sure they would have tried to work a deal with you. BTW I got my IC for $350 shipped brand new.

Anyone heard of these? I noticed a seller on Amazon had it listed for $350 seemed to look identical to Mishmoto... Im not familiar with it.

Seen this happen in the DSM/Evo world and the testing revealed that looks were the main focus. Overall, the parts work, but it's best to support the companies that support the community. Ebay turbochargers, intercoolers, SS exhaust parts that later rust because of their inferior quality, and Mitsubishi turbine housings, are probably the most noteable comparison in this case.

fair enough. with my roush axle backs and resonator delete i think i will be fine. the roush axle back is still pretty quiet

I had a small issue with the install today. On the driver side the plastic piece tab that the top mounting bar of the intercooler sits on snapped off while I was putting the intercooler in. So.....not sure if that's going to cause in issue down the road or not. The passenger side is firmly bolted in. It feels snug, but I"m not sure if vibration from driving will wiggle it loose or not.
Anyone know if that'll be issue or if there's a DIY fix I can apply?
