Hi Guys,

happy new year. I know a lot of you love to spend a lot of efforts in keeping their GT350 in great shape... I am more the lazy one :-)

What can I do to keep my car clean from the outside without spending much efforts?
Any products that you can refer to even without the need of a car wash, just wiping of the major dirt?

I usually drove my BMW sports cars through a regular car wash (no brushes), but I hear the Shelby wheels are too big.

My winter tires are 275 on 10 inch rims... can i go through car wash with those without risking damage?

Thanks for any advices in advance.
I am ok with seeing my car aging over time.
I consider scratches more like scars. :-)

Maybe the mods can put a #trigger warning on this for me
No need to be rude.

To OP: Your best bet for truly easy cleaning is a ceramic coating. You can keep the car relatively clean with just a rinse. They're expensive but worth it if you aren't inclined to spend time detailing.

I'd take it to a detail shop and have them apply it and you do your own rinses from then on.

FYI

CLEANING THE EXTERIOR
Washing Your Vehicle
Do not drive your vehicle through an automated, commercial car wash due to the vehicle’s low ground clearance and tire width. Wash your vehicle by hand, or by using a touchless commercial wash with no mechanical tracks on the floor. Do not use a power washer or high pressure wand. See the Owner’s Manual for information on cleaning products and vehicle care.

But then again, I'll probably be accused of being rude...

OP you need to saran wrap the car and store it in a climate controlled bomb shelter until summer.

I've used Griot's Garage Waterless Carwash and Speed Shine (both of these are liquid spray bottle products) and a microfiber towel with great success on other cars and will likely just do the same on this one. I find that if you keep it clean, then you have less effort when it does need a rinse or towel-down.

I use something similar to this from Meguiars in between deeper washes. Works great. I also applied a nano coating and it really helps make cleaning take about 10-15 mins. Only challenge I've found is with the wheels. Brake dust is brutal.

I'm cringing reading your post OP,, sorry not to be rude, lol.
Now I don't drive mine every day but I wash all my vehicles at min twice a week in season and at least once a month while stored. Even my daily drive cars get washed 1 a week in winter. I've never used the ceramic coatings but if it works like a fresh wax it might be worth your time to protect your investment.

Thank you, I will look into the waterless spray with microfiber towels.

Why do people post something that is of no help here in this forum?
Ah wait,... It's winter, you're not busy washing your car :-)

Take it easy, just funny to see that :-)

Look up rinseless washes. The most popular is probably Optimum No Rinse (ONR). It's pretty cheap on amazon, and a full rinseless car wash can be done in 20 min or less.

Get your entire car wrapped in ppf. You can go through a Mexican car wash once a week and not worry about your paint.

Check out chadwicks triple play. Its a wash, polish and sealant all in one and works exactly as promised.Been using it on the shelby since day one and the car looks amazing. (I tested it on my other cars for a year prior) Put away all my mothers and mcguires products and only use this. Soap and water and wax will never touch my car!!

Agree. The brake dust just kills me. I usually wash it and then put it away. But the rotors build up some rust while the car sits (I dry it off, but of course not the brakes). Everytime I then go to pull it out of the garage in a few days, the brakes are locked up. Takes serious effort to break it free. Pop! But then I immediately get rusty brake dust on the very first drive after the wash.....Kills me every time.
