Found an interesting GT350 Track Car build on one of the GT forums

Not sure if this builder is here on the 6G site or whether any of you know this guy, but wow - very serious build with great results. From the posts at the end of the thread, it appears that he's started on a second one!

Wow. Awesome build. And the fact that he took one of the original 2015 GT350s racing, the original Shelby crew would be proud.

Did some digging and found this:



It is actually not a real GT350 “it started out as a 5.0” so no blasphemy.

Still an amazing build and a perfect track car. Extremely impressive build with lots of GT350, GT350R, and GT4 parts.

Was curious too because of all of the R parts mixed with standard GT350 parts so Sully and Mulder had to go to work to answer if it was indeed one of the 2015 37 GT350Rs.

I stand corrected. I re-read and yes, he says it started out as a GT and he bought a 350 for the parts.

No need to stand corrected. The Ford GT forum made it appear as if it was an authentic GT350 and it was questionable if it was an R.

I would’ve been right there with you if it was one of the actual 37, although I know many of the original Shelby guys and most if not all of them would’ve been cheering if it was.

Interesting that a guy takes an engine that has been tested by an OEM, throws a bunch of custom one-off parts at it and states that now it will be more reliable.

Last time I was at Kohr they had a Red GT350 that they would sell for 60K and convert. No title. They also has a certain 15R that was not for sale

I haven'y looked into this in detail with the Voodoo, but the firing order between a FPC and CPC are different. That would mean you would have to address the air, fuel and spark timing/synchronizing, at a minimum. I would imagine that you could do the following with a GT350 if you wanted to convert the Voodoo from FPC to CPC:
1. FP 5.2L Aluminator cams or custom cams with the Coyote firing order.
2. FP 5.2L Aluminator crankshaft or other aftermarket Coyote 93mm stroke crank.
3. Re-pin the fuel injectors and ignition coils at the ECM to reflect the proper firing order or have the firing order changed (tune) in the ECM.
4. Replace the stock Voodoo exhaust manifolds for Gen 1 Coyote exhaust manifolds or aftermarket Coyote headers.

Interesting build. Enjoy watching this stuff. A little stumped after looking at the GT Forum link with the dash of with appeared to be a 15' Base R laying on the floor with a red Chassis badge "F????" picture a bit fuzzy & hard to make out. Then watched the video a couple posts down & they show a HR 397 chassis badge on a dash. Then they stated it started out as a GT. Well now I'm really scratching my head!LOL Anyone help me get this straight?
