Don't confuse the pedalmax with the Boostmax. The Boostmax MIGHT POSSIBLY be a factor to ecobooms but the Pedalmax just amplifies the throttle input and adds some throttle response which does work pretty good. This is safe to the motor.

Regardless which does what, they both trick the computer to do different things whether that be throttle response or more boost. A tune can do both of these things SAFELY and add more power. Idk about anyone else but Id rather spend a couple more hundred bucks and actually go faster than feel like I'm going faster because I have better throttle response.

Some of us are looking to preserve our warranty and for me right now the Pedalmax is beneficial. I very seldom go full throttle daily driving and the Pedalmax gives more HP per a given throttle possition up to about 75% throttle. But if warranty is not a concern no question it is best to spend the money on a proper tune.

I mean it only "preserves" your warranty if u take it out prior to bringing it in. And if u do this, ur playing the system which is unethical. It doesnt add power, it just gives it more throttle without having to press on the peddle as much. If I go WOT and u go WOT, we will both be putting out the same throttle response. But if u go 60% throttle, I have to push more on the pedal to get the same feeling. But in terms of the power curve its all the same. But lets not hijack this thread anymore LOL.

That's good to hear. I plan to get the Pro Cal tune along with an intercooler in the spring.
Which intercooler did you have in mind? I was thinking CP-E since the delivery pressure is just about the same as stock and would not affect performance.

I haven't decided yet. My primary concern at the moment is getting a Steeda shifter bushing and trans bushing so this stock shifter doesn't suck donkeyballs anymore. A Barton or Tri-Ax shifter aren't in the cards for probably at least a year and I CANNOT live with the stock shifter like this for that long, lol.

I did give the MAPerformance intercooler a cursory look over the weekend. I haven't really started digging deep into intercoolers yet. Ultimately, I want to make 400-450whp, so that will be a driving factor in what I choose.

Levels Street would be a good choice then. Thats what I went with and not complaints at all. Very well built unit.

Yeah, I won't start chasing those power levels until the warranty is up. I'll hit 1000 miles today. I want the Pro Cal tune while the car is under warranty.

Can anyone with the tune tell me how much more noticeable the intake noise is compared to the stock intake?

It's an open box so I'm guessing it will increase the noise but if you don't like it, you can always put the stock box back on. That's what I'd do anyways, just upgrade the drop in filter. The only issue would be, does Ford Performance still honor their warranty if you put the stock box back on?

Maybe a tiny bit louder. I had a mishimoto on before and it was way louder. I dont hear the blow off valve sound nearly as much now. It pretty sounds stock to me lol

I read that they won't honor the warranty. But on this site, it is hard to believe anything you read... so who knows for sure.

Best to ask your dealer or FP.

I meant that more as a joke. It would be Ford Performance that would need to honor the warranty and I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with the stock air box being in there.
